Hi-I have been reading your board for a few weeks and it has been very helpful!  Gramma skittles referred me to this board.

I have been having RA like symptoms since March-07.  Just referred to a RD in September, but not able to get an appt until the end of January

This seems to be a really great board with some very helpful and caring people.Hi flip4acure, welcome to the board. I would flip AND do a sommersault AND a cartwheel for a cure---and probably a lot more, haha!

Sorry about why you're here, but good luck with your diagnosis! I also wanted to mention there are many alternative therapies perhaps not mentioned at your RD's, and you can find more information on that here and at other boards. Hope you're doing better soon.
Welcome flip4acure, sorry to hear your daughter has it too. This board is great, all questions welcome, everyone here happy to listen to a vent.Hi Flip4acure  Wecome to the board.  < =text/>_popupControl();

Kim!!!  ((((hugs))) Glad to see you here!!!  Sit down a spell!!!  Remember, there is no such thing as stupid questions so make sure you ask any and all questions you have.  I think we have a couple of more people that are waiting to see the RD for the first time hanging about also.  Anyways, we have all been where you are and there are quite a few newly diagnosed people that can understand where you are at right now because it wasn’t that long ago they were where you are now.

Jump on it to the chat thread also and let off some steam!  We can get pretty crazy lol.

Hi Kim, welcome to the board. It seems odd you couldn't get in sooner to see the RD with your DD already having it. Hope you get some help, has your regular dr given you anything? It's crazy that people have to wait so long.  I guess there are a lot of places where it's hard to find an RD?  Around here their are several to choose from.  Welcome to the board!kweenb39384.5796064815

Hi and Welcome!

Pip

Hello, I'm sorry to hear about you and your daughter, and i hope that things look up for both of you! Hello and welcome. HappI am so sorry that you have to wait so long to visit the rheumy!  I know how anxious you are to confirm it is RA and get going on a plan to do something about it.   I had my first apt. with the rheumy a couple of weeks ago, plus had another more encompassing set of blood test done then.  I see him this Thursday for the results.  Currently I am taking Celebrex + Tylenol.  Hopefully the GP gave you some meds to hold you over until January.  That seems like an awful long time to have to wait!!!   Sure hope you hang in there OK.  If any problems develope in the meantime, bug the GP to see what he can offer you for relief.  Sure hope your daughter is doing OK with her JRA and has it under control.  Hi Kim and welcome!hi, and welcome!! I agree waiting until Jan. seems like forever! Perhaps, you can as to get on a waiting list and be ready to go if they call. This is getting to be the 'holiday' season and the RD's seem to take off a lot during this time. I hope you aren't feeling too anxious. good luck with an earlier appointment. LyndaHello and welcome! Welcome to the forum.  Lindyhey flip, welcome!  i am new as well!  man it sux you have to wait so long?  is there another dr you could get in to see faster?

I would like to say hi and welcome too. I hope you can get some help for yourself and daughter. How sad for little ones to get this crap.

Hang in there.....

Hi Kim, I hope you get as much  help, fun and friends as I have out of this board, welcome!!!!! Welcome aboard the gravy train. I've gained a lot of knowledge since discovering this forum.

Thanks for all the welcomes!

My daughter has been well controlled on MTX since May.

I am on the RD waiting list.  So I am keeping my fingers crossed!  There are only 2 rheumys in my area--the next one is 3-4 hours away.  I have thought about making the trip, but I am having more OK days than bad ones.  Since this all started I had one really good day where I felt like my old self and it made be realize how long I have been feeling so rundown.  Does that rundown feeling let up once the swelling and pain are controlled?

The run down feeling takes a little longer to go away than the other symptoms once you get everything under control.  For many of us, one of the most frustrating aspects of RA is the fatigue.  There are many of us here that take medication so we do not become fatigued during the day.

Hi and Welcome Kim!

You'll find great info here!  I am so glad to hear that your daughter has meds that are working on her!  Being patient isn't an easy thing to do but it is worth the wait.  Maybe it won't be as long as you think!
Welcome!! You'll find great support and information here.

I am so sorry for your family!!!! There are so many loving people here and also so knowledgeable too!!!! Sending you and your family big hugs!!!!

Welcome to the board, flip4acure

Hope to see ya around
