< =text/>_popupControl(); Good morning everyone!!!  Bleargh, yes, it is morning lol.  The whole house is up this morning.  Arielle needs a ride to school and Danny is taking care of that for her so he is awake too!!!

PACKERS WIN PACKERS WIN!!!  Yes folks, Packers win against the Broncos 19-13 in OT!!!  An excellent game was played by both teams.

Please remember to keep Shannon and Kelsay in your thoughts and prayers today as they travel home from a difficult long weekend.  May they have a safe trip back home.

That is about all from here right now.  Kids getting ready for school and as we all know that comes with the usual morning busy-ness lol.  And fighting.  Ugh!

Be well and as pain free as possible today!!!

Goodmornin Gram and all!!! I've been up since 4am for some durn reason, just came wide awake and got up...blessings to all who are in need of them.........this is 7 days without a cancer stick!!!

Shannon and Kelsey, my thoughts are with you!

don, way congrats! it is so hard to stop smoking. I wish my son would stop chewing. He says, 'I can't', ugh.

I'm up but feel like going back to bed, Whatelse's new.

Lynda

Liz...so sorry about your infusion.  I know how heart wrenching the decision is and how frustrating it is to post-pone the precious infusion.  I had to last month, and I think I cried for a day or two, because I was hurting so badly.

Shannon...I'm still prayin for you girl...get some rest, and send Kelsay back to school.

Hawk....Yes!!  Yes!!  I am so very proud of you.  Way to take hold of your life!

As for me...well, I am going to whine, and then I am going back to bed.  Well, I thought I actually recovered from my house cleaning.  I subbed yesterday, and walked a High school from stem to stern as a Special Education teacher.  I slept until about two and then the pain hit HARD.  My hands are pretty numb and my shoulders are swollen, and then all of the regular places.  I have added rib pain on the other side.  Still no word on the lung xrays...hoping for today.  Storm is coming through with the threat of the four letter word...that I am not supposed to mention.  Infusion is tomorrow....this has been a very ridiculous month, extreme pain...pain changes...pain moving or expanding territory.  Enough already!  Well, I am going back to bed for a while.

All the best to those of you who are quitting cigarettes, hope your successful. DH was a smoker, then switched to chew. The man with half a face came to school one day and DH started to talk about quitting. Then the dentist found a lump under his tongue, scared him, and he quit. It was benign and now he chews whole cloves, there are probably no studies on that.

It is blowing like crazy this morning, but at least I won't have to scrape off the car.Good morning from the Sonoran Abode: the Sun is up, the day progresses...harvested armfuls of basil this early AM and have spent the last couple of hours making our winter's supply of pesto. Today's perfumeis garlic and olive oil.

I send my very best thought to each of you. Smooth roads, clear skies, and comfort!

Con brio, Happ < =text/>_popupControl();

YAY!!!!  Congrats on your 7th day of no smoking!!!  WAY TO GO DON!!!  You are going to love being smoke free.  I know that Danny and I look forward to it.  Speaking of which, Danny just arrived home from his first smoking cessation meeting.  Today was a check up and medical history by one of the company doctors.  Because of Danny’s COPD, he will have to be monitored more closely.  The company doc and our regular PCP are going to work together to monitor him.  The Chantix is going to be free!  They were doing payroll deduction for the employees for the Chantix, but they are deeming Danny’s Chantix medically necessary due to the COPD and his company is going to pay for it!!!  We are so excited to be doing this!  Not just for our health, but for our kids health also.  I have him all pumped up into quitting and how good it is going to be.  I know it will be rough for a few weeks, but we will make it through!  I will know more about his quit date once I know more about the Chantix.  I have a folder of pamphlets and information to read that Danny brought home from his visit to the company doc.

Well, good news on the infusion.  The doc office called me back and if I do not run at all today (which I have not) I can still have my infusion tomorrow!!!  YAY!!!  I will most likely sleep thru the whole thing lol.  9am is very early for me lol.  I will probably get through a couple of chapters of the John Grisham book I am reading and then it will be Sandman time lol.  I wanted to stay awake this morning and coffee didn’t even help with that.  I am guessing it is just the nature of the out of control RA beast making me so tired.  I will also nap again later on today lol.  Sheeeesh.

Shelly…so sorry you are hurting so badly.  One of the hardest things to learn with RA is just what the point is that we need to stop doing things before it becomes a case of overdoing.  Like if you are going sub for a day…that means you do *nothing* else that day.  No cleaning, no running around doing errands like a chicken with it’s head cut off…no anything else.  Even us old time RA’ers have problems sometimes knowing when to say when.

Wow Ninil..what a scare!!  I think I would quit after that scare also.  I am not sure on the whole cloves thing…but isn’t that a natural herb?  Has to be better than chew.

It is another pretty fall day here in the Midwest made even better with the Packers win lol.  I know these days will not last forever so I am treasuring each and every single one of them.  I love having my windows open for as long as I possibly can before hunkering down for the long cold winter.  Even if it is just my balcony door I have open during the day I am happy with that lol.

Hi Happ!!!  Oh Happ…I posted the candy corn and pumpkin cheesecake recipe on another board I am on.  A question about the pumpkin cheesecake…I can do that minus the nuts right?  I am allergic.

Absolutely!

Hello to all,

I see more new names every time I get on Welcome one and all.

I do not get on as often as I would like to but can not find the energy most days. ( Okay I am also sucked in by all the shows saved to DVR.) Cool sunny day in Northern Ky.  We had our family Halloween party on Sun. and it was great to spend time with everyone. It is the only time family from both sides (mine and my wifes) gets together. Everyone seems to enjoy it on both sides.

I will try and post a few pics:

Fresh Pesto! My DD would love you, she's a pesto fanatic. She cooks chicken breast with pesto on angel hair pasta all the time. I buy a couple jars at a time when they are on sale. I haven't made the cheesecake yet, didn't have pumpkin in the pantry.

That's great Danny will get his Chantix paid for. My DH's parents smoked since they were teenagers, quit in their late 60's, in time for their lungs to recover.

Morning all, I'm up walking and that's about the extent of it.  Not sure if brain is engaged.

I injected both MXT and my first dose of Humira yesterday evening.  I had no idea that Humira hurt the way it did.  Stan injected me and I'm happy that he did because I probably would have pulled the needle out in surprise.  I knew it would hurt some but that was ridiculous.

I think that Shelly and I

I'm not doing much today, Stan is golfing and I need to rearrange some cabinets and do some cleaning but a little later.  What I really need to do is wake up and stop weeping.    I feel like I've had a potent sleeping pill hangover.

Another day under your belt for all of you smoking cessation people.  Hurray for all of you.

Shel, take it easy today if you can.  I'm right there with you.  The old say "I feel your pain" is trite and stupid but with us it's so true.

Jay, can't see your pics.  Don't know if it's my end or yours.

Happ, we'll be back in Tucson area on Friday and then off to Ajo, back to Tombstone, Benson, Bisbee and then to Tubac to spend a week.  I love Tubac and plan on doing some shopping.  I think that I really want to settle in that area of the country when we decide to settle down again.  Let me know if we'll be close to you.  Maybe meet for coffee or lunch.

Hi to Lynda and Diedre
Fresh Pesto! My DD would love you, she's a pesto fanatic. She cooks chicken breast with pesto on angel hair pasta...
I too am a pesto fanatic: a few weeks ago we spent several days making jar-after-jar of sun-dried tomato pesto, and or the first time this year we made some fruit pest: the peach is, well, to quote my friend Claire, to die for. Who woulda thought garlic, basil, oil and fruit would dress pasta with panache?

I served bacon-wrapped rabbit with peach pesto on linguine as the main course at a recently catered dinner and was rewarded with raves. Like love, I like it when raves happen
Tubac is one of my most favourite places! I can spend days wanderin' and wishin'. I would love to meet up! Let me know when you are back in the neighbourhood, I am always ready for lunch!

Cheers!

Yep, Lindy, I am in the boat with you.  I have never had so much tendon pain in all my life.  Then adding the tendon pain in the ribs, and difficulty breathing on top of that.  I fianlly gave up and took half a pain pill.  Then woke up in just as much pain in less than two hours.  All I want to do is sleep.  The thing that stinks is I will probably do fine tomorrow, and the doctor will not ever see the miss figurement of the tendon swelling.  Oh well, he has seen it in places, but I tell you the truth if he stretches on my shoulders and hands, I may cry!

Lindy...yep, Humira burns like crazy...but I hope it knocks it out for you.  It did help some with me, but not enough.

Liz...I sure hope you get your infusion tomorrow.  You are my infusion buddy and all.

Well we are home...VERY tired but home.  Ive got a bunch of stories to tell,but not really in the mood right now so maybe later or tomorrow.  Ive got lots of catching up to do,

Shannon, honey take your time...we will wait!  Love ya, and glad you're home!

< =text/>_popupControl();

Lindy…that Humira really does burn.  I got to the point of where I had someone else in the house inject me because there were times I just couldn’t bring myself to stick that pen against my skin and push that button.  Try icing the area to numb it up a little first before you inject next time.  I hope you get quick and great results with the Humira.  I hope you have taken the day to rest and it sure sounds like you needed it.

Shannon…glad you guys are home safe and sound.  You have been in my thoughts and prayers the whole time you have been gone.  Take your time telling us everything.  We will still be here when you are ready.  Rest and relax after that 8 hour boring I have never seen so much flat land and cornfields ever drive back home.  You will have time to unpack everything tomorrow while Kelsay is at school.

Shelly…hope you rested and relaxed today also.  If you think you are going to be better tomorrow and the doctor isn’t going to see what you want him to see, take pics of it…print it out…and bring the pics to your doc visit.

Jay!!  Where ya been??!!??  Nope, can’t see your pictures.  There is a really weird way you have to post pics.  PM me if you want to know how.

Tubac is awesome!!  I could shop and wish there forever!!!

I am getting my infusion tomorrow morning at 9am.  YAY!  I think lol.  No, I am happy.  Just not looking forward to being a pin cushion.  Speaking of pin cushion…has anyone seen Pinnie lately??  Where is she???  Did she go on holiday and I missed that post?  Another very boring day at home for me.  Did a few dishes and was tired after that lol.  Took a nap for about an hour.  Dinner tonight is teriyaki marinated turkey breast, roasted taters, angel hair pasta with an herb sauce, and I think peas.  Yes, the chef has confirmed peas lol.  It smells so good in the house and I am soooooo hungry lol.

Liz, we have made record time....we made it there and back both in 6 hours! < =text/>_popupControl();

Dang Shannon…did ya put wings on the car??  Ohio police must not have been out lol.

< =text/>_popupControl();

Well, I have lost all motivation for the day.  I have suddenly felt an increase in my pain level for some reason.  I checked the weather and they are only calling for a 30% chance of showers tomorrow.  Maybe we are going to get rain.  My swelling has suddenly increased also.  My knee has started to really hurt.  It’s that really deep stabbing ache.  ARGH!!  Well, I guess it is good I didn’t run a fever today and I can go in for my infusion all swollen, gimped up, and in pain.  I have to drive tomorrow too!!  URG!!  It is just a quick trip tho.  I have to take Arielle to her high school since student council does a haunted house for kids on Halloween.  It is only a 5 mile round trip lol.  I think I can handle it.  I just need to watch my pain meds amount.  The good part is I finally get to drive the new car!!  YAY!!!  Danielle is flaring again.  The fatigue has set in and she has asked for pain relief.  I caught her rocking back and forth.  Her wrists are hurting her.  It is state testing at school this week and I hope she can make it tomorrow.  If not, no big deal, they have make up days.  She is the one stressing about being at school tomorrow.  I love the drive she has, but sometimes it can be frustrating for her and for me.

I think I am done here for the night unless anything comes up with Katie and Justin.  I am going to slip on my braces and fold a load of laundry.  That I can do sitting in bed.  Arielle will put it all away for me.  Don’t think I will stay up late with Danny tonight either.  Busy day for me tomorrow and I need all the sleep I can get.  So, everyone please have a great night and I will check in tomorrow sometime after I get home from my infusion.
