I have been diagnosed with RF negative RA for appr. 3 years. Have tried numerous meds(plaquenil, methotrexate, Kinnaret, Enbrel, remicade) all of which have had to be discontinued  due to side effects or failure to relieve symptoms. Allergic to all NSAIDS, currently taking Arava and prednisone. I've been ORDERED to back off prednisone as quickly as possible because of side effects. doctor is suggesting Prosorba Column..anyone have any experience with this? Thanks for the help!

Welcome,  I wish I could give you some info on Prosorba Column, I've never even heard of it.

Thanks for the welcome, Jen! The prosorba column is a filtering device that they use to filter the antibodies out of your blood, and then they put it back in, hopefully allowing you to go into remission for a while! The doc hasn't decided to use it yet, but may in conjunction with some other things eventually. always something new and interesting LOL

KJ did two rounds of the Prosorba Column - maybe this will help:

Best of luck to you if you decide to go this route. :)

Kimmy, thanks for the link to KJ's journal...it would be interesting to know how things have gone since then, and if she continued with treatments...her experience sounds like mine with chemo 9 years ago..I don't think I would do the prosorba without having a line put in..playing pincushion is NO fun at all! reading her journal was helpful in pulling me out of my "funk" this morning, as i was reminded that things can always be worse! I just need to hang in until we find something that works for me !
