I feel so weak | Arthritis Information

Its day three of back to the real world.  Work is a disaster.  I cut my zyprexa in half last night and got up a little easier this am but my body feels like it is made of lead.  I can not answer the phone without wheezing.  I guess this sort of breath goes along with the two pulmonary embolisms I have but man, it sucks!  My back is killing me and I can not get comfortable no matter what.  I got fed up with my pjs last night and throw a hissy fit in the front room, striped naked and laid back on the couch trying to get comfy and that didn't even work.

I find it hard to believe I am still going through withdrawal after 4.5 weeks?????  Not sure if its the new pysch meds they have me on or what.  If I had enough energy or breath, I think I would scream!!!!

Sorry you're  having such a rough time, Michele.  Wish there was something that could help you.

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers,

Kelly

Michele ~

Sounds a smidge like a train wreck!  I'll be praying for you!

Michele

stop playing with the med doses and call your doctors before doing anything

sorry Michele hope you feel a little better soon. I am sorry that you are not feeling well. I hope things start to feel better for you. I'm sorry you haven't gotten some relief you can hold on to. Shortness of breathe can also be a sign of anemia and you've had some really chronic health issues for awhile. I'm hoping this will sort itself out, please don't lose hope for finally getting some answers and relief. If I'm reading your comment correctly, your being successful would mean the rest was a failure, please give yourself time.Oh michele, I'm so sorry you're feeling this way.  Maybe you should contact the dr?  Gentle hugs and healing thoughts to you.Thinking of you.

Hi sorry to hear you still have big trouble. Call your doc about the wheezing. When you are struggling to get enough air nothing in life seems ok or worth while. I'm one of those that never call and never go to the ER, but when I have trouble breathing, I do call and I won't take 'No' or 'later' for an answer.

Do call. Breathing problems should never be ignored. Even if you did have 2 lung embolisms you should be able to beathe decently by now, at least you should be able to sit and talk quitely. (I'm wondering if it is one of your meds, an early warning of a big allergy attack coming on.)

Michele,

I'm glad to hear from you.  I wish you were doing better.  I hate that you are still having a hard time.  Hang in there and remember, you have a great support system here!

As for your breathing...I know that when I get bronchitis (which is often), it takes WEEKS to get my lung capacity back.  But, I think you should call your dr. just to be on the safe side.

Michele,

I'm sorry it is still going so badly. After what you went through with doctors before, it must be very frustrating to still feel so badly now that some of the health problems have been discovered. Try to be patient and give yourself time to recover. Your body has been through so much. I know it is easier said than done. You are in my prayers.

You sound miserable. You can not play with zyprexa doses. You could have a heart attack or mess up your brain chemestry all together that is just fact. It will make you tired you might get used to that after awhile. But tell your doctor. They have meds to possibly combat the fatique issues. Tell your doctor you are completey miserable. But never skip a zyprexa. If you cut down get docs advise. It is dangerous to do by your self. Hope you get better soon. Tell doc about the breathing issue also.

Hi Michele, so glad you are posting again, but sorry you are not 'outta the woods' yet! (your naked 'hissy fit' story, made me laugh....I hope it was okay). When you get some humor back that's a good sign.

The not being able to breath sounds so scary, and along with everything else is surely NOT good. I hope you get some advice from your doc's. Keep talkin' to us though.

Lynda

Michele,

I agree with the others:

1. Call or go to the doctors this am...period...no..."I will wait and see"

2. Do not mess with the doseage, because there are specific ways to do that, and you could head for trouble if you do not do it right.

I along with others do think that you have entered a hostile atmosphere too soon.  I understand the money issues...trust me on that, but Michele....you are wearing yourself out by going and trying to do full days.  I wonder if "he"(the boss with the BIG esteme and little winkie) would allow you to do half days, and maybe just do the stuff that is ABSOLUTELY necessary.  Like just the paperwork and no phones.  YOu do need to communicate with people on behalf of YOUR well being or you are going to end up back to square one.  I for one do not want to see any more of your precious life wasted on things that are not productive or a part of the healing process.

Please listen, 'cause we all care about you sooooo much!

Michele, call your doctor if you think the Zyprexa is causing problems.  It can be a harsh drug (physically AND mentally); your medical team may have alternative treatments more suited to you.

There is no discontinuation syndrome associated with Zyprexa... it's not like stopping blood pressure meds, SSRI's, benzodiazepines or opiates.  It's not physically dangerous to reduce the dosage, but it can be tough on you emotionally/mentally... and you don't need any more of that.

Like others have said, if you are having shortness of breath, it could be due to the pulmonary embolism problems. They can take quite a bit of time to go away.  DO NOT ASSUME IT IS DUE TO YOUR NEW MEDICATIONS. Call your medical team ASAP if you are having shortness of breath.  This is what they get paid for. Thanks everyone.  I did call my dr and have an appt tomorrow at 8:30am, before I go to work.  The Dr's wanted me to take another 2 weeks but I just can not.  I have brought a yoga mat, pillow and blanket to the office and go lay down in the back room.  If someone comes in, I have to get up but laying down helps.

The shortness of breath has been going on a couple of weeks now.  They thought it was from me being on TWO blood pressure meds so I am weaning off one but its not helping.  If I stay still and don't talk or anything, its better but with any movement or activity, I feel like I am running 15 miles or something stupid!

They told me it can take 2-3 months before the PE's start to shrink.  I am doing 80 mg lovenox injections twice a day as well as 10 mg of coumadin.  They are testing my blood every 2-3 days to be sure it is therapeutic.  They had me on a heprin drip in the hospital.

When they started me on the zyprexa, they had me on half a dose for a few days but I complained I was not sleeping well so they upped it to the full 15mg.  Now, its making me sleep too much so I cut it in half again.  I have not been able to get ahold of the dr who prescribed it but will look for his cell phone number tonight when I get home.  I will be seeing another shrink med dr in a month or so and won't change anything else until than.  I will also mention the dose reduction when I see the PCP tomorrow.  It does help me but I think the dose was just too high.

Michele...I am sorry that you are feeling so poorly....I just want you to know that I care about you a lot and want you to be ok!  Actually I want you to be more than ok!  Rest if you need to, and maybe talk to the doc you work for about a half day routine.  I know that the money is important, but not as important as your life.

You have had such a hard time!  Please keep posting and telling us how you are doing...we worry about you.

I hope the doctor is able to help you tomorrow.

Becky
