My first Rituxan infusion | Arthritis Information

I had my first Rituxan infusion and everything went great.  Hubby took me, stayed with me for a few hours, then came back to get me when I was done.  They were super-busy so we were there for almost 2.5 hours before I got the infusion started, but the people were so very nice.  Happily, I had no adverse reactions at all and they were able to increase the rate without any trouble.  My only problems were severe dry-eye from the oncology center environment and that *#!#%$ automated bp cuff.  It squeeze me so tight every time that it left marks on my arm and my hand went numb.  But if that's as bad as it gets, then I'm doing alright.

I haven't been posting as much as I'd like lately.  For most of the last 5-6 weeks I've been in such bad pain, and the 2-4 mg Dilaudid every 6 hours isn't controlling it.  Then last week I was running like crazy with my sister's bachelorette, rehearsal and wedding.  Everything was so wonderful, but it's a lot to recover from when I was already exhausted.  The wedding was fabulous...we don't have the photographer's photos yet, but here are some snapshots of my sister and her new husband at the conclusion of the ceremony (Wiccan handfasting), a pic of her and me, one of me before I left the house and got rained on (which cleared up before the ceremony), and one of the cake her friend made to match her gown.

(Sorry, not sure why the 2nd one's so large, but I can't seem to fix it)

Awww how nice! It looks like all had a good time. Like her dress. I do not get the white dresses for weddings anyways.

Feel better soon, and glad the infusion went well.

That being said, I've seen the photo and my great-grandmother didn't wear a corset, purple flames or tattoos!

Cool pictures! My oldest daughters has some tattoos, but most are in more hidden places

Be well. Hugs, Nini

Nini, it is amazing to me that 1.5 years ago 1 mg IV Dilaudid was kicking my butt in the hospital, but now it's helping, just not that much.  I am SOOO hoping that the Rituxan is going to save me from trying to figure out more pain meds.

BTW, my sister is a professional body piercer, so the tats aren't an issue at her workplace, they're almost required.

Please let me know how the Rituxan works for you. I hope it exceeds all your expectations

Be well, Nini

Suzanne, I am glad your infusion went well, I hope you have the best of luck with it.

Thank you for sharing those pictures with us.  I like to see the different weddings and such.

Thanks, shel
