This may sound stupid but i have to ask....If our immune sysytems are already out of whack & we are on immune suppressing drugs, then I guess taking something like "Airborne" would be defeating the purpose?
LuluI
thought taking something like Airborne might help, usually if I take
echinacea when I first start to feel a sore throat I can usually keep a
cold from coming on. I believe that every little bit helps
Mina
I think a little added protection is a good idea too. Every little bit helps.y'all do know that with RA you do not want to boost the system right?
"Echinacea should not be used by individuals with tuberculosis, leukosis, collagen disease, multiple sclerosis or an autoimmune
disease, such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus erythematosus."

"
Because of Echinacea's effects on the immune system, you should not take this
drug if you have multiple sclerosis, AIDS, tuberculosis, leukemia, and autoimmune
disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. "

Now, these are two of many sites that say this...and from personal
experience...it can cause increase of pain. I was in remission
and took it for a cold...not knowing it shouldn't be used in people
with RA...the next morning..I woke up hurting in joints that had not
hurt in a long time. And for me...during colds..my joints ache
much less..almost as if the immune system has a real invader to fight
so it leaves my joints alone.
