OA/RA and Walking | Arthritis Information

Prior to my diagnosis of OA two years ago, I walked 2 to 3 miles a day, every day, without fail.  Since my major knee deterioration started, I've been more sporadic with my exercise, but when I'm able, I do walk.  Here's my question: Cortisone injections really help me (for about 6-8 weeks at a time), and when I'm pain-free or the pain has lessened, I lace up my shoes and hit the pavement.  I know the "right" answer here -- try water aerobics, biking, etc.  But the truth is that walking is the only exercise I'm able to stick with because I really like it.  Any other walkers out there?  Do you feel it's benefitted you or exacerbated your arthritis?  Just curious.  Thanks.

I have RA and do not have OA in my knees.  However, I have OA in both big toes.

I run without too much problem to any body part.  However, when I walk any distance, my feet hurt...really hurt.
