Remember Remember the Fifth of November!

How's everyones morning so far? The sun is starting to peek up here and it is cold as a witch's tit! I have a mini heater going and a blanket, and I STILL can't keep warm. Grrrr

In about an hour I'll be outa here, I'm gonna run home to get a shower and feed the kitties......eat breakfast etc. Then I gotta come back out here for Justin's surgery this afternoon. 1pm! He's pretty nervous about it, poor guy. I know he's gonna do great though. :)

At some point today I'm going to crash like there's no tomorrow though. LOL And then I work one more overnight shift, and I get two days off!! Can't wait to sleep them away, too! < =text/>_popupControl(); Morning everyone.  I have been up all of 30 minutes and so far have...made a pot of coffee and did 2 seperate cups of coffee out of that for me and danny...answered a page on the emergency mother system (Danielle woke up in pain), doled out meds to 2 people (have 2 more people to go), bemoaned the weather (i.e. cussed at falling temps and wind gusts up to 50 mph).

In case you haven't heard...PACKERS WIN!!!  That make us 7-1.  YAY!!!

Katie...give Justin a hug for me and tell him everything will be ok.

Infusion at 130!!  I am happy to report no fever etc. to stop this one!!  Altho..I am losing my darn voice again!!  Makes family very happy lol.

Hope everyone has a good day as pain free as possible.  Stay safe!

Katie, all the best for Justin's surgery.  Hang in there hon.  You deserve a two day sleep

UGGGGG  I feel hungover but I wasnt the one drinking last night....That makes no sense.  So we we are on our way home from my dads last night and my husband calls to check on a friend of our who him and is fiance had just split up and we wanted to make sure he was alright.  Well hubby gets him on the phone and hes drunker then anything and crying on the phone.  So we go over there poor out all the alcohol and have him put a bag together and he slept over here.  He was really in bad shape when we got there and admited to us that he wanted to hurt himself which is why he answered the phone finally when my husband called.  But he just left for work and was in a pretty chipper mood for drinking as much as he did last night.
Im not doin to much today, Kelsay slept over at my dads so he's going to bring her to school then we are going to lunch.

Tell Justin I'll be thinking about him and sending him lots of prayers today, Katie.

Good luck with the infusion, Liz.  I hope the infusions turn this thing around on it's heels!  Sorry to hear Danielle isn't well today, hope it's just a short term thing.

Shannon, what wonderful friends you and your husband are.  That was an incredible thing you did.  Sometimes people just need to be reminded that there are people who care about them, and that they aren't alone.

Things in Connecticut are chilly, but it is a beautiful sunny day.  The squirrels are very busy getting ready for winter, they are running all over my yard with hickory nuts in their mouth.

I am happy to report that according to the "wooley worms" here in Connecticut, we won't be having much snow this year.  According to hillbilly folklore, the wooley worms (those brown and black caterpillars) predict what kind of winter it will be.  The more black that's on them, the more snow there will be!

Everyone have a good one - and good luck to Justin!

Since I forgot in my first post...

Katie~ Big hugs to you and Justin.  Let us know how the surgery goes.

Liz~ Hope Danielle gets better as well.  Poor thing, hugs to her too

Karen~ Have a great day!!!  How are you feeling? Have you recuperated (sp?) from Halloween yet?

Our friend is probably going to be staying the night tonight as well.  We told him that he is welcome to stay as long as he needs to, e was in really a shape when we got there and we dont want him to be alone if he doesnt have to.  At least for now anyways.

Thanks for asking Shannon!  I'm doing pretty good.  Can't say I'm fully recovered yet though, but I'm working on it.  This weekend we did almost nothing - just watched TV and ate!  Next weekend we begin tearing it all down.

My biggest problem right now is my hip keeps buckling on me and it scares me.  I'm afraid it will pop out of joint and that really does scare me, I must admit.  It feels like it's right on the edge of doing that, so putting on my pants can be quite an adventure.  It literally goes clunk, clunk and I can feel it almost pop out and then back in.

Nothing like living life on the edge!  Does anyone else have this concern?  Has anyone had a dislocated hip?

Katie- tell justin we are thinking of him and you too. take care

Liz- poor Danielle, give her a big hug and i hope she feels better soon. Good luck for infusion andhope you dont lose your voice altogether, it all that shouting for the Packers

Karen- Wooley worms and squirrels, it sounds like a lovely place to be.

Shannon- I hope your friend feels better soon, that is a great thing for you and hubby to do for him.

Its a cold and blustery autumn day here, I have an opticians appointment soon so i could be the owner of glasses soon

Oh yes, its bonfire night here( guy fawkes), im not that keen on the big bangs but i do like the fountain type ones with the pretty colors.

Liz...I am so excited for your infusion.  I hope it just takes you to a new level of recovery!

Katie...I pray that all will go really well with Justin and the surgery will take him over the hump.

Shannon...You are such a good friend and always are looking for the best in people...thank you.

Karen...I certainly share your concern and I have almost popped my him out of joint and I have fallen, 'cause of knee and hip problems.  It is not fun.  Stay close to the heating pad and continue to rest.

Alright Lynda....here are the pictures if I can get them to post.  I have been feverishly trying to do something to make my mom feel special.  This is what I came up with.

My hope is that she will enjoy these.  It also occupies time that I would concentrate on how much I hurt.
...My hope is that she will enjoy these.  It also occupies time that I would concentrate on how much I hurt.
Lovely! absolutely lovely! Gifts crafted with love...OK, I admit it: the thought brings tears to my eyes.

Katie, my very best wishes are on the airwaves to you and to Justin. I will hold you close in my thoughts.

I wish I could give each of you the gift of well-being, but barring that please know I am thinking of you and wish you joy, comfort, smooth roads, and blue skies.

Con brio! HappHi all, Shelly they are so beautiful. I envy people who can think up these lovely things to sew and sew them. My aunties were always around sewing, chatting and sharing the family stuff when I was little. It would be such fun belonging to a sewing 'bee' or 'B'. Do you do these at home or with other people?  Your mother will love this! Thanks for sharing, have a great day. I would have done something wild , probably 'pink' and crazy. You have better taste. I'd like to sew an 'out of sight bed spread. How would I start? (I have a machine that threads the needle itself!!Lynda

The reverse side of the quilted pillow case is hot pink and kinda wild.

I always start with a pattern I like.  I have a couple of quilt books.  There are also a multitude of patterns in quilting magazines, which are fairly easy.  I would love to have a sewing machine that would thread itself!  I have trouble threading any needle.  I am also having some troubles with my sewing machine at this time as well.  Reverse will not work, although you do not reverse through any part of a quilt.  You always sew through the seams.

I bought a new machine some years ago, it is Jamone, Harmony. I was so excited that I wouldn't have to worry about breaking the thread anymore! i mostly sew up rips and such, not a real seamstress. I gave my 'old' machine away, so it didn't go to waste. me

That's a lovely pillow Shelly, I love calico, I wish I could buy every pattern that catches my eye. And crochet, your hands must be in pretty good shape. I really enjoy sewing, when I'm home for the winter it keeps my mind off the RA. I bought a new machine that has a threader for the needle, and so quiet, I can sew and talk to DH at the same time. Course it's sitting on the table and if he wants to eat, he has to push the current project aside.

Katie, it's going on noon where you are, I'm hoping Justin has a successful operation and speedy recovery.

Hill, I hate taking down the decorations and putting them away for another year. Christmas goes up after we get home from Thanksgiving and I don't take it down until after Russian New Year, so I can get the most out of the tree.

All the best to the rest of you, hope you have a comfortable day. I have to go see how cold it is, if I have to put on socks before I drive DD to school.

Deidre it has taken me a year to crochet the doily.  I try to do it when I am relaxing at night.  Most of the time my hands are numb, so it is entertaining for the kids to see me drop the hook, and say things I am not proud of and then pick it back up.  DS keeps telling me to hang the crocheting up, but I can't it is a tribute to his gg-ma.

Shelly4139391.4125231481

Your mama will be thrilled Shelly!  It always means so much to me if someone takes the time to put so much love and thought into a gift.

I envy those of you who can sew - my mom has made me several hand quilted quilts, for my bed, crib quilts for the kids, wall hangings, etc.  She does lap quilting most of the time, but also has the large quilt frames she has used on some projects.  It's an Appalachian art - but somehow I just didn't get that gene!  If I can't use a glue gun or a paint brush, forget it!

I hear ya Deidre - putting up decorations is so much more fun than taking them down.  Hey, when is Russian New Year?  I may want to use that excuse, LOL.  Actually, I only feel I am late in getting my Christmas stuff put away if I don't get it taken down by Martin Luther King Day!  We always have a real tree, and we have taken them out of the house without any needles left on them!

I'm thinking about ya Katie - can't wait to hear how things went.

Karen

Karen, Russian Orthodox New Years is Jan 13th, so you'll get more time with Martin Luther King day. Believe it or don't, most of the evergreens in Alaska are really ugly, I would start looking for next years, when the current Christmas was over. Searching the sides of roads, out snow machining and never finding the perfect tree. DH didn't want a fake tree until we got the oak flooring and he didn't want a 5 gallon bucket of water ruining the new floor. I'd put sugar and aspirin in the water to keep them alive longer and actually had some start to grown new green. I love my perfect fake tree.

Hi Ya'll!!!!

Just wanted to say hello and Let you guys know that I am stilll alive!!!!

Love ya guys

 Hey Angy...long time no see

Anybody hear from Katie yet? Hope Justin is ok.

Today is my sister's birthday and tomorrow is my lil poochie's, she's 1

Hope everybody is having a good day!

Oh oh...I woke up this morning to an invasion of lady bugs!

Geez Mona, Ladybugs are really good insects, they were probably just attracted to the warm air coming through your open window. We always have an invasion of daddy long legs every fall as they try to get to warmer temperatures. The last one I caught in the bathroom I moved to the plant in the window. Haven't seen him since. I'm imagining him having set up house under a leaf and eating deadly bacteria. Ladybugs eat all kinds of bad bugs. RIP Mona's Ladybugs.

I know Diedre! Lady bugs are very beneficial, but they were flying in my hair

Yep, I went through that whole Twilight Zone thing, and then my uncles watched Helter Skelter....gosh...no wonder I am scared of everything, but I wouldn't have sucked up the poor ladybugs.  Poor things!!

Twilight Zone is on at one am on the sci-fi channel.  Last winter when I was down so long with that first flare, I used to watch almost every night.  Love that show, we used to watch the reruns when we were kids.  Their are so many great episodes.

Yep, I also used to enjoy the old Alfred Hitchcock movies.  I could never watch the "Birds" though.  I just couldn't do it.

So I had lunch w/ my dad today and he wanted to know if we wanted to rent his house from him for the same amount that we are paying at the house that we are at.  AND....we are gonna do it.  I am going to call the landlord and find out about breaking the lease, and we are more then likely going to move so she would start at the new school after winter break.  YAY!!! I am really excited!!!

Dag nabbit!  I have to go to jury duty tomorrow morning!   I had to wait until tonight to call in to the automated line to see if I have to serve, and wouldn't ya know it, I do!

Now I have to get up and moving in the morning - my least favorite thing to do!  You think if I tell them I'm grumpy they will excuse me?

That's pretty sweet Shannon

Too bad about jury duty Karen.  I hope you at least get chosen to sit on a jury.  I've been called about 5 times and all I've ever gotten to do was sit in the waiting area to see if my number gets called. Never has.

Yeah, if I have to go, I hope I get on a case - and one that's interesting.

Wow Shannon what a year for Kelsay - 3 different schools in one year!

Hill, Grumpy worked for me. I had to give up a 5 day sub job, to be paid .00 a day to be on duty. My number got called and during the interview I said that I had lost that job and had to drive 90 miles roundtrip to be on duty. When it came time to seat the jury I was the only one dismissed for being an antagonistic juror! I was so embarrassed, my face must have been beet red, the judge made a big deal about it as I slunk out of court. Then the guy pled no contest anyway!!!

< =text/>_popupControl(); Ok, I don't have much time so I couldn't read the whole thread.  I hope everyone had a good day today.

My infusion went well and only poked 2 times this time for the IV lol.

I have to put up another post about RD's and then hit the sack.

Glad your infusion went well Liz! I had my Orencia infusion today and only had to be poked 3 times! LOLHas anyone heard from Katie this afternoon? Just wondering how Justin's surgery went...

 Hey Guys

Gale where you been?

How's everybody?

Hey Mo'Nana! Whatcha mean where have I been! Remember....SOME of us work during the day!

Gale...I think Katies plan was to sleep tonight, but I was hoping she would let us know.

Karen...Yep, had jury duty, sat around, and never got picked.  That was back when it was five bucks a day....when I was making about ten an hour at the bank in Alaska.  Sat around for three days!

Liz...I am glad that you got your infusion.  I was only poked once, but man do I have a bruise!

Gale...I am also glad you got your infusion today.  We should all be ship shape pretty soon!  LOL

 OH ...yeah

Oh well, how ya doin? What'd you do this weekend? I did nothing, stoopid cold

Hey Shelly! How ya feelin'?

I was feelin' better, and I worked half day today, but my throat feels very wierd.  I also have an increase in pain.  Gosh I was enjoying my two days of just a little pain for me.

How did your day go?

Mona...I just want you to get well, girlie!

My lil poochie will be 1 year old tomorrow

Thanks Shelly I do feel better. Glad you were feeling somewhat better, you needed a break too!

Happy Birthday to Poochie tomorrow.  I think if I got my babies clothes they would run away.

I bought a sweater for Molly, but hubby won't put it on her when he takes her for a walk. He say's it's 'gay'.

Of course, he puts on a jacket, gloves, and a cap when it's really cold, but Molly gets nothing!

See that is why my poochies will not wear clothes.  Our little baby needs clothes, but hubby would laugh and call her names.

Baby freezes, I keep him trimmed pretty short, he's worn clothes since he was a baby. He's even got a rain coat and hat

How cold does it get in the winter there?

It usually doesn't get much below 40 degrees, but we do have the occasional freeze.

We will be down to twenty degrees here tonight and fifty tomorrow, but we are still early in the season.

Wow Shelly! I can't even imagine 20 degrees!

We Californian's are incredibly spoiled! LOL

I want it to snow sooo bad! I want a white Christmas and Thanksgiving...fat chance here though...stoopid global warming!

Yes you are.  In fact the room where the computer is needs a fire in the wood stove.  I am freezing and it is making me hurt more. I shall have to go.  Can't wait until I can get a wireless router again!!!!

We're still sleeping with the windows open and a fan going in the bedroom. LOL Goognight Shell...get warm hon...I have the heat pump fan on and a ceiling fan going...lol I'm hot

I had lady bugs in my open window this morning, a tiny hole in the screen let them all in! I sucked 'em up in the vacuum, Shell and Diedre blessed me out!

Just popped in to see what you are up to. Quiet tonight without Katie, Joonie, and the Sea Hag.

I would've totally freaked if I had lady bugs in my room! I probably would have called Dale at work and told him to get home and take care of 'em! ALL bugs freak me out!

Yeah Jay, we need the sea hag to liven things up! LOL

 I forget you're such a girl Gale.

Lady bugs are good bugs, they eat aphids, but I don't want them in my house!

Hey Jay

Who is the Sea Hag? And could somebody please tell me what OT is? I am so computer stupid!!!

The sea hag is Karen aka Hillhoney.

OT = Off Topic

Heck no I just sucked em up, maybe they'll eat each other.

I just changed bags and I'm not wasting it for lady bugs, they're expensive!

Karen is the Hag and OT is off toppic. It is kind of a hint to others that it is NOT RA related.Ewwwwww....the vacuum was put back in the closet with live lady bugs running around inside the bag? *shiver*

Hey Angy girl, how are ya?

Jay I hate spiders and cricketts, they all start coming in this time of year!

Hi Link! How goes it?

Hello everybody!!!!

Thanks guys for the clarification!!!!

ive been better. a lot. bad bad shoulderSo sorry Link....I hope you feel better soon. Sending you a hug!

Do you think you're flaring? Wasn't your wrist hurting the other day?

Hey Link sorry to hear about the shoulder.

Angy there are no stupid questions around here so feel free to ask anything. (Everyone else does.)

Just feels like christmas.Hey Jay, forgot to mention...love the halloween pics you posted the other day!

thanks you guys

is everyone else pretty good....hope so

Hi Milly! Glad you're starting to feel better!

Oh and I am sooo mad!!! The property behind us in the woods that had the old house on it...well they were going to burn it for practice but we have been under a burn ban forever sooo the owners had it bull dozed off a ravine and covered up. Cool!

Well this weekend hubby came in mad as the devil, they've cleared that land off and put a freaking trailer on it!!

Poor you Link! I'll bet you have bursitis, you need to go on to the Dr and get a shot in it, I promise it will feel better if thats what it is. Sooo sorry!

Are they living in the trailer? That would sooooooo piss me off too!mo, at least you get to be in the house.  think of the people in the trailor, they wish they were you having to look at them.  so stop moanaingJay, what does one do at a halloween convention?mo  no needles in my shoulder. ever  i dont care what it would do.  besides, i think its a flare this is just what it used to feel likeAre you girls anti-trailers or am I missing something?

Nobody's living in it yet, they just put it on the land Saturday. They'll probably rent it out! No telling how much our property will depreciate. We have no zoning laws out in the semi-country like we are. I want to sell and move.

No Rajay, I am not anti-trailer!!!!

No I'm not anti-trailer either, some are really pretty, some of my friends live in trailers. I like my privacy, I'm too used to being free on my deck, laying in the sun, bird watching...kwim? They will be less than 50 yards facing my whole back yard!

Link, mom is doing good. She's home from the rehab facility and almost back to where she was before she fell. Thanks for asking!

thats a pretty quick recovery for a hip.  she must have been in pretty good health before the fall?Good night all be well. How did Justins surgery go i hadn't checked the boards is it on there?

Good Night Milly....Sleep tight!

I hope you all have good weeks. TTYL

Jay

I been knocking my fool hands off, let me in!

I collect shoes and yeah Jay...lady bugs too!

Gale do you have a Kate Spade...I want one bad!

Nite Jay and Milly!

Night Rajay!!!! Try not to work to hard....who am I kidding 13 hour days!

I think I'm going to hit the hay too. Its 12:39 am here.....

Love you guys

I do have a Kate Spade...but it's from last year. I just bought a new Michael Kors a couple of weeks ago and I love it! Good night Angy!

Talk to ya'll tomorrow!  Love ya's!

my daughter loves purses.  she like the giant coach.  not the biggest one, like the one under.  and juicy.  i think juicy will be a christmas gift, but shes gonna have to get a job before she owns that coach

My sister is the purse nut...my mom was too, me I have them but hate to change. I'm still carrying my 2 yr old Coach

I have a few purses, but one that i carry everyday, and then a couple for going out.  i like purses, im jst not a freak about it.  my mom i think will go broke buying purses  their is a coach that ive been looking at though

 Good night Gale.. love ya

Juicy is so cute for young girls ain't it Link? My coach is the bucket, mid size, kinda stiff though. I like my Vera Bradley better than anything it's sooo soft and squishy

Katie it sounds like things went better than expected for Justin, that's such good news

Sorry bout your grandpa, it doesn't sound good sweetie, he's just worn out

Now you get some rest tomorrow, i know you're sooo tired. Wish you didn't have to work tonight.

Yes ma'am. I'm off the next two days, and my agenda is sleep. Hehehe

Link, I didn't get to skip back and read, where exactly is your arm hurting you?

It's my shoulder katie.  it feels jsut like back during the intital onset of RA.  It's incredibly painful but i guess most here know what it feels like.OW ow ow :( Does it go all the way into your shoulder blade too? Or is it one of those DEEP DEEP pains? You should ghetto-sling it for the night, give it some rest. (ghetto-sling....you know, make a half-assed sling out of a pillow case. LOL)it goes more down into my elbow than into my blade.  I cant do a sling, i have to hold it in a specific way or it's too much for me.  That's why Ill be sleeping sittin up in a chair tonight.  if i sleep.  to lay back pulls it out of alignment and i really cant take it without being a baby about it.two days off, that sounds nice,  you deserve it.Oh ow that really sucks. :( Do try to get some sleep at some point though, kay? Lest I be forced to kick your hiney.

NIGHT MO-NANA!

were only getting flurries.  still snow is snow. and its coming.

Nighty night Link!

I've been reading for such a long time!  These posts are so much fun, but by the time I'm done reading, I forgot what I was going to say and to whom I was going to say it

It's late here, too, now. I need to try to sleep. It's been two nights so far, with very little sleep, so I took my Rozerem 2 hrs. ago and, so far...NOTHING! I'm in the part of my insurance they call the "doughnut hole", so I have to pay full price for everything except generics. It's a true bummer to pay 125.00 for 30 sleeping pills that don't work. Oh well, I'll know better next time.

Good night, Katie and whoever is still here

Hugs, Nini
