It could just be the massaging

If nothing else, you should certainly have smooth and hydrated skin! LOL

Brisen39391.9406828704Okay know dont laugh my uncle gave me a bottle of Rubbing Alcohol that has MJ in it.  He gets the MJ and lets it sit in the bottle for 5 months before he will use it he "SWEARS" by it but i havent tried it.  You have to put it on your sore joints and with in a week or so he says it soaks in and helps relieve some of the pain he says that he learned that from my grandma who did it all the time.  I think he and grandma used to smoke it that is why they never felt pain.

I wonder if it works.....

Ok Debra I'll rub it in and you take a swig. We'll see which way works best < =text/>_popupControl(); Look on the bright side Link...at least she doesn't want you to drink it lol.

I just had a friend recommend horse liniment from Farm and Barn (Farm n Fleet lol) since my arthritis is getting so bad lol.  No, I did not throttle him.  I explained once again to him that I am just a touch past horse liniment helping me lol.

LOL Linc

I heard of Castor Oil compresses and it is listed as alternative method in my Forbidden Cures book.

For Adrenal improvement:

Soak Castor oil on flannel pcs.

Apply to stomach area

Put towel over and then heating pad for about an hour

I have been wanting to try this as I have thyroid problems and it is supposed to help with adrenals and immune system.  I will report if I ever get around to doing.  Anyone else up for experiment???

Castor oil is not only a folkloric remedy for constipation, it is widely used for its anti-inflammatory qualities. IF, big if, memory serves, it is the ricinoleic acid that exhibits anti-inflammatory properties.

It can reduce the size and colour of a bruise, soothe a sore muscle, feel good on joints, and take the sting out of an ant or mosquito bite.

Hold on, let me check Wikipedia...

Medicinal use of castor oil. Ah! memory did serve me well re: ricinoleic acid.

I almost always have a jar in which peppers are infusing in castor oil...strained it provides a more effect "heat liniment" than anything that can be purchased OTC.

Castor oil, old fashioned, but effective!Hmm...who'd have thought? Thanks guys.  I'll let y'all know if it helps.  Don't have any yet but I'll get some this week and give it a try.

A Google search for castor oil will fill in the cracks. It's been good fun rembering this particular episode from childhood, so thanks for starting the thread. Cheers, Des.

I was once told by my now ex sis in law (who is a complete crack head) that I should drink castor oil to make myself go into labor...um yeah..glad I didnt listen to that one...I am sure I would have been at the hospital with a baby coming out along with, well..the entire contents of my lower GI tract, yuk!

Remember about 10 years ago when emu stuff was all the rage? Emu oil was being marketed as a rub for sore joints too!

PS Olive oil is supposedly good for eczema (when applied directly) and I know of some nurses that mix it in Eucerine Cream and then refridgerate it for use on their eczema.
