I like my new rheumy and his beliefs in meds show in the number of success stories he has, he is also stands up for his patients who arent getting the right treament because of funding.

Here are a couple of stories about Dr Bamji. He has restored my faith in my treatment

Lisa, it's good to see a doctor fight for his patient.  And it seems to me, if a patient is willing to accept the risks of a trial so that data can be gathered that could help millions, that patient should be compensated in such a way that he/she can continue the drug after the trial, assuming it was found to be safe and effective.  To give a patient relief and then withdraw it is cruel and totally unacceptable.

I also learned from the first article that the UK's medical system is flawed, just like ours.  I know there have been other posts and threads along these lines, but it just pointed out to me that there's still no perfect medical plan in place, either here in the US, or the UK.

I think everyones health system is flawed to a great degree. Too much paperwork not enough actual research.

You are SO right.

That's awesome Lisa...I'm so thrilled for you. I hope my new RD will be so great!!
