Hi, long time listener, first time caller.
First, let em say that I like this board and the people. Quite a diverse bunch and everyone is interesting.
I've been reading this forum for a while now and have noticed a lot of discussion recently about what to post and where to post it, etc., etc., etc.
In an effort to help and as an experiment, I recently opened up a new forum called RA Sucks. Not as a substitute for this forum but in addition to it. I am the administrator but have no plans to moderate the forum in any way. I don't like censorship and I don't think it will be needed anyway because the board is separated into different areas for different topics. It has smilies and direct messaging and all the bells & whistles.
Check it out, see if you think it will help or if I'm overstepping my boundaries. It seems to be very fast and stable and maybe will offer a new avenue of discussion and friendship. Let me know what you think one way or the other.

I have no problem with your new site...or the name of it. I've registered...haven't posted yet though.Lev, why do you even care? I find the name offensive to me so will not be using it.Yeah, I'm not crazy about the title either. It takes away from what otherwise looks like a well thought out, professional forum. I'm also afraid the name might encourage less than savory people to participate. I thought that happened when I saw "Stiffpaul" but he seems to be normal. OK, maybe I'm the less than normal one and I have a dirty mind. Anyway, good luck with your board.Here is the reason i care and so should everybody. Consistency is the key to constant outcome. I worked for years in a business with many contracts and many court appearances and we never lost one case. The reason is because we made no exceptions for anyone. Had we allowed even one person to vary from the contract, we would have to explain in court why everybody and their brother can't do the same thing and more importantly why did we make that exception. Where do we draw the line? Bangles and beads. Forums? Sex sites? Who is going to decide what line or the color of the line. If you open the door to spammers, why can't all spammers spam? That member likes that member so it's okay. Kelseysmommy doesn't like levlarry (from way back), so he can't spam his herbal joint relief. That one doesn't like sex things so that spammer is out. Spam is spam. Consitency is for everyone no matter what color the spam is, or the religion of the spam or the sex of the spam. Simple stuff, isn't it?

Hillhoney, you're right. It just seemed like an unfortunate double entendre. You know what? This may sound crazy but ra can't suck. It's part of who/what I am - and I don't suck. I'm great. I can educate people about RA, teach them not to be scared. My dr. gives me hope, I can pass that hope on. My mother has it, my grandmother had it, they didn't/don't suck. RA just...is. It is and we deal. PeaceI like your attitude, Honey.Honey I completly agree w/ you. RA does not suck. If I had never had been diagnosed w/ RA there would be so many people I would have never met and many opportunites that I would have not gotten. If I had never had gotten RA I would not have had the opportunity to travel back and forth to Ohio to see my grandmother as much as I did. As much as RA has also hindered a lot of things in my life I see it as a blessing in disguise.
Lev~ Its not that I do not like you, I dont like the way that you treat people and criticize others. Yes, spammers come in many different forms, but the poster CLEARLY said that he didnt want the site that he is promoting was not as a subsitute for AI. Other boards have different members on them which in turn means that their may be different opinoins, different thoughts on a certain symptom that you are having that maybe someone on here may not have expierenced before. I dont see anything wrong w/ throwing out another board as long as you are not being obnoxious about it. When you have a chronic disease like we all do, the more help that we have can do nothing but help us. Maybe someone is on a perticular medicine that might help another out. Why do you have such a problem w/ people being members and others promoting other boards?
I think some of you might be a bit too uptight. RA DOES suck! It doesn't mean we suck because we have it, but come on, it really does kinda suck sometimes, wouldn't you agree? Must we be so PC all the time? And why make such a fuss over why you aren't posting over there? If the name is such a big issue, can't you just "not post there". It just comes across sort of "holier than though".LOVE IT!

Yeah, it really has been like walking on eggshells around here lately. It really is kind of annoying too. I just want people to respect other people’s thoughts and feelings. Is that really too much to ask???
