New Enbrel Commercial | Arthritis Information

Anyone seen the new Enbrel commercial for  psoriasis, where it says visit your dermatologist today.

Yeah... and then we wonder why RA gets no attention at all.

Now you can be given Enbrel by a dermatologist, too.

Just my 2 cents.

My son's diabetes doctor says they are using Enbrel in newly diagnosed Type 1 to keep them in the "honeymoon stage" thats after they are diagnosed and their bodies can go for a time without injections. My son lasted in this phase for about 2 months. they are stickly using it in the trial stage...

Joonie,

My Mom's old friend uses it for her severe psoriasis and says that it is a godsend. I enjoy it. You should have seen her face and head, she used to have to get some kind of head injections. Just my two cents.

LEV

I have no doubt it is a godsend for people. I am glad it can be used for more than just RA and help people with other diseases.

It is just that we have such a hard time getting people to understand what we go thru and when you tell people you are injections they kinda stop and take notice and wonder why. Then it helps them to see RA really is not an old people disease. That there is actually more to it. But now when you probably tell someone you are on enbrel they will be like, really... my friend went to the dermatologist and got put on that too. See... the commercial did not help our cause.

I find our biggest information or disease information evil to be aleve, they do all of us such an injustice, tell someone you have ra and they think that all you have to do is take an aleve for 24 hour relief. By the way, Aleve never ever gave me relief from my ra pain.

Naproxen is a godsend for me.  Works better than celebrex, mobic, ibuprofen, etc.  I generally take 2 to 6 naproxen sodium 220mg tablets per day.
JasmineRain39396.3319560185Naproxen has never worked for me, not for anything.  Ibuprophen is another story.  It's my kyptonite.  ha!!  Just kidding.  I'm not really dorky enough to say that.  Ibu works very well for me though. My money is on Linncn and her Ibu thumb.

Oh yea?  Well my Aleve thumb is all-day strong, all-day long.  HA!!!

Maybe we'll have the wrestling match at night.

LEV

Oh can it be in jell-o! I wanna see some people wrestle around in jell-o! Since now I cannot have my dream of filling up a bathtub full of jell-o and just lay in it. Do you know how hard it would be to talk hubby into helping me outta a slimey tub full of jell-o?

IBU does better for my swelling & pain than Aleve. Not that it makes it all go away, but it does help take the edge off, enough to were it is not a consitant reminder while inactive.

A couple for advil and a vicodin are way better for me than either one alone.

Oh I was telling hubby about this commercial last night, and he said he saw it. I told him how I felt about the commercial... and he has a smart ass remark.

He said "yeah the commercial probably does not help your cause, but what are you going to do... march in protest?" yeah... it was pretty funny, but still a smart-ass remark.

On that we'll have to agree!!! (though I prefer naproxen and vicodin!)

Ok, but you have to realize that people with Psoriasis have been completely shunned from society until the last five or so years.  Not a whole lot has been done.  I was shunned all through school, b/c I had psoriasi so badly on my head and the back of my neck.  I had hair dressers refuse to cut my hair and send me out...because of contagious diseases.  I also had my message therapist wear gloves, "because she has a baby" and I had an outbreak.  No information...so I for one am glad to see commercials shedding light....Now if we could get one to recognized PA.

Psoriasis is an autoimmune....that has had less coverage than any other and more fear, b/c it is visible.

Aleve....cannot take it, 'cause of an allergy...so be thankful for advil, naproxim and all of that....I get Tylenol!!!

Man, I was excited when I saw the first Humira commercial for Crohns! I was STOKED. It's just one more med that must be doing something right, or they wouldn't be using it for multiple diseases. PLUS, well ya know....hunny has Crohns so it always makes me happy to hear of new stuff that works for him. :) I don't see why it's such a big deal that meds are used for more than one condition.
