Hello all,
Since we are observing Veterans day on Monday I thought I would share a poem my 15 year old daughter wrote for a school program last week. Her dad and both granddads are veterans and our son is a soldier in the Army in Iraq right now.
Kierra's Poem
To those who take on honor and pride
America is a bride
They will cherish and protect
Never thinking of what they will collect
They will never stop loving this land
They will never stop taking a stand
they are the "one and only"
No matter how lonely-
they are the adventurers, the challengers, the healers
They are the soldiers
Thanks to all who our veterans, service members and their families.
Mary...your daughter is very talented. As the wife of a Veteran...I am honored that she would think of us! Thank you for sharing.

No, Jesse, prayer is not the least you can do. I know several young guys that are serving and have served in Iraq. Ask them if prayer is the "least you can do". They say no. They say it lifts their spirits, encourages their hearts, and keeps them going.
As the mom of two Marines, I say thank you for this most important support, please don't stop praying for our troops.
Linncn is right Jesse, my son has asked for prayer for himself, but mostly for his new wife who is left here to worry and wait. They appreciate that and news from home very much. I write him long letters and send boxes of goodies, games, newspapers and silliness every 2 weeks. He often ask for letters, he looks forward to them so much.I saw the most touching thing yesterday as I drove by a town green, on the way to my daughter's house. There was a small group of veterans, wearing their VFW hats, holding a very small, quiet ceremony around a monument on the green. There were no spectators, no parades, no vendors selling inflatible crayons on a stick. Just veterans remembering those who have fallen for our freedom.
It immediately brought tears to my eyes, the simple beauty of their remembrance and respect, and the deep meaning behind that small, simple ceremony.
