OT, bathtubs | Arthritis Information

Trying to observe the recent suggestion that OT be regulated to this category, I just want to inquire if anyone has difficulty getting into and out of a "regular" bathtub, and further if anyone has invested in a walk-in tub.

I really desire one, but the price keeps me from further investigation. *LOL* However, some anecdotal stories might convince me to tell the Sonoran Abode bean-counter that such a convenience needs to become high priority...

Anyone?

I got a Comfort Bath 3 years ago and it was the best thing I have done for myself.  The installation and changes that had to be made to my bathroom were expensive, but I use it every day, sometimes twice and I can't say enough good things about it.

BTW, My RD wrote me a prescription and I was able to take a LARGE tax deduction.  So, it helped some with the cost.

Crispy

Thanks so much for the response.

My RD has indicated she will write 'scripts for either a walk-in or a hot tub.

Guess it is time to work out a budget and do the homework on makes and models.

Thanks again.

Hot tub,  now if I could get my RD to prescribe a hot tub  I would be a happy camper.  There is no way I can get in and out of a bath.  The only baths I have had in the last year or so were when we went away for a weekend and there was a spa bath in the cottage.  I was able to step in and out and it was big enough and had handles so I could actually hoist myself out of the thing.  I used to spend a lot of time in the bath with a good book.  I'd love to be able to do that again
