Im still alive and kicking. Money was getting too tight and causing me a lot of anxiety so I got a job...well, actually two jobs. They will most likely only be until after the first of the year, but who knows... It is a lot harder than I thought it would be on my feet all day. I am working 7 days a week, and some days I work 6-8 hrs at one job and then go to the other. Both have been very accomodating of eachother. One is at a toy store - crazy, I know. The other is at a ladies clothing boutique in the mall. They give employees 50% discount on their clothes, but I only need so many. Mainly my day consists of waking, taking meds. and resting til they kick in. I shower, run out the door, get home, take meds and go straight to bed. It's taking me about ten hours of sleep to keep this schedule. I hope that I can avoid flares or setbacks until after the Christmas season. This is probably not the smartest thing to be doing, but I felt the need and am taking each day as it comes...

Here's some good news... After being on pred for 14 mo. I have finally tapered off. Also, Hubby and my boys are learning to be much more self sufficient and appreciate all that I did do as a stay at home mom for the last 18 years.

I still have not resolved my gallbladder issue, so I cannot eat much and am never hungry, so I have lost about 20lbs. (which was much needed, but a bit too quick I must admit). I would love to lose 20 more.

I think about you all everyday even though I cannot come here and post as often, know that you all are in my prayers.

Owie - I have been waiting to hear from ya. I hope you can make it thru, if not please dump at least the most hecktic of the 2 jobs. We will be here for you always. Hey while working at the toy store... put it to good use... remember my PM

I hope within your hecktic schedule you are still trying to get the gallbladder taken care of. We really worry about you. Now more so than ever.

Please do take care of yourself and listen to your body.

Much love & hugs & prayers your way.

Kelly

Good to hear from you!  Take care and try not to overdo it! (probably too late to mention that)

Hi owie,

Just want to say hello and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.  Like the others said Don't Overdo.

Take care

Good work on getting off of the pred. Me too!, but boy it took forever.....I felt sick and so tired for weeks afterward. Good to hear from you again.LyndaJust wanted to offer my congratulations on the prednisone reduction and to tell you I admire the strength and determination you show.  Isn't it nice that your family now sees how much you've been doing that they didn't even know about?  I'll bet they'll really appreciate you all the more.

My family is definitely not happy about the hours I am away from home. Hubby thinks it makes him look like he cannot provide for his family in the eyes of my parents and siblings. Who cares what they think. I am doing what needs to be done. He also said I was ruining the holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas) because I will be working so much, but I am the one who has always done everything to make the holidays special for our family, lets see how they fare. I know they can do it! As much as he tries, I refuse to feel guilty; I stayed home for 18 years!

< =text/>_popupControl(); Way to go!!  Glad things are looking up for you and going so well!!!  Just don't overdo and land yourself back at square one!!!Good to hear things are going well.  Hope you make it through theholidays w/no flares.Good luck to you  -  stay well!

I'm going to parrot what everyone else has said - Good luck! Don't overdo it! Listen to your body! And good for you, kicking Arthur in the nads to get things done!

I'm sure your family will make it through the holidays without you there to cook. Boston Market makes a great turkey.

Just adding my pair of pennies here...for what it's worth.  You know what you can do, but believe me, when you've overdone it, your body will let you know in a hurry.  I worked 2 jobs for awhile while hubby was out of work and it was hard.  I worked in an office all day, went home for supper, then worked as a site supervisor at a college till 10 or 11 at night.  My exhaustion led to flares and a lot of pain.  After 18 mos I quit because hubby landed a great job and money became less of a concern.

I know what you mean about going out there after 18 years (I stayed home for 13 years) and letting the family see exactly what we were doing all along.

Best of luck to you.

Molly Bee
