I recently went to the pain specialist and she told me to get on Goji juice as an antioxidant.  When I went to the supplement store they told me I should take fish oil (omega 3).  I don't know too much about omega 3's but don't they boost the immune system?  I have severe RA and not too sure I want to boost my immune system since the meds I'm on suppress it.  Kinda confused .... any thoughts/suggestions??
< =text/>_popupControl(); I know a lot of people swear by fish oil.  I give it to my 15 year old for those female problems and it works wonders.  If you have questions about taking it, put in a call to your doc.  They will tell you yes or no on it.  [QUOTE=Mekarres]I recently went to the pain specialist and she told me to get on Goji juice as an antioxidant.

Fish oil suppresses the immune system.
I dont take fish oil, I take the vegetarian alternative which is GLA (Starflower Oil).  You can take up to 3 x 1g daily, I usually take 2 but sometimes 3.
Epsom Salt baths are also anti-inflammatory.
I think I read somewhere that Goji juiice (?) stimulates the immune system, which isn't what you want with RA - but not sure - so please check.
I also take Manuka Honey 3 teasp daily for my digestive system, and an acidophilus.

Fish oil suppresses inflammation, a good thing.  You're right that you don't want to be doing anything to boost your immune system, according to my RD, because that just defeats the purpose of the RA drugs.  Celena,
Vitamin E is also an excellent antioxidant.  I've also read that its supposed to give the joints some protection for people with RA.
Personally, I think dry vitamin E is better than the other stuff, but its more expensive (I take 400mg daily) and you get it from the health food shop.
You shouldn't take it if you're on blood thinning meds.
