A Recovering American Soldier
c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center
           6900 Georgia Avenue,NW
           Washington,D.C. 20307-5001

Thanks a great idea Gram; Thanks for posting that address.

I read on another site where the hospital is asking that cards not be sent because they dont have the staff to distribute them

Although the Walter Reed Army Medical Center is NOT accepting holiday cards for recovering soldiers, the American Red Cross has said that small gifts may be sent to patients in that facility through them.
"Walter Reed Army Medical Center is ONLY accepting phone cards, CDs, individual small packets of candy, things like that; which they will distribute among the soldiers (as they have a lot of in and out patients). They are NOT accepting Holiday Cards, as they don't have the human resources to distribute them and the influx of cards could pose a security risk."

You may send your packets to:
American Red Cross
Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Gerogia Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20307-5000

Hugs,

Maria

ok that doesnt make sense..Either way they are distributeing something right?  And sending a package could become a more serious "security threat" Doesnt make sense to me either, I think cards is a far better idea, I am in Croatia and if I send a packet it has to go through customs so it might not get there by Christmas because the people here are slooooow GREAT site Jasmine.....thanks
