I have not been diagnosed, waiting for appt. with rheumy at end of Sept. My GP told me to take a double dose of Aleve and that would be prescription strength. Could someone tell me exactly how many mg are in the prescription strength and how often you can take them? The bottle scares me because it says "do not exceed 2 tablets in a 8-12 hour period, do not exceed 3 tablets in a 24 hour period". Each of these is 220 mg naproxen. Any guidance would be appreciated!!
Just make sure you've got something on your stomach before taking it. Aleve especially can burn a hole right through your stomach and you won't even realize it until you're doubled over in pain.
A friend of my father's was driving down the road when it happend to him. He had to pull over and be picked up by an ambulance.
The bottle says you can tke 2 pills at opnce for the first time.. That would be 440mg... 600 is usually the lowest perscription strength... 800 is strong... I take 2 each time... usually at lunch and at bed when needed...How is school Uni?well i have had 2 days to set up my room.. its no where near done!!! i am sorta depressed ( read the post ""Anyone else?") and i get kids tomorrow...heres me at work today...
How many days til Christmas break????
You probably should check back with your Dr for exactly how many mg is okay for you in a day. I know for my son his GP was reccomending 4 aleve a day. 2 with breakfast and 2 with dinner. That would be 880 mg and he's only 12 years old. His PRD nixed that idea and prescribed 1200 mg motrin daily. Hard to know what he's expecting you to do when he says "double dose".
Good Luck,
Pam
YIKES!!! Lovie you be careful with that ADVIL. My Mother used to pop that stuff like crazy and it caused all kinds of kidney problems...almost had to go on dialysis for the rest of her life. Just hearing the word ADVIL makes me cringe.
Peace & Love...Neasy Unicorn,,,,you are funny! I LOVE Christmas.Hang in there, hopefully it will come quickly for you. Sheila
