NOOOOO!!!! THE FLU?!?! | Arthritis Information

There's nothing they can give him since he's not 1 yet. I feel so bad. He's got a high fever and you can tell he just feels crappy. Luckily he likes the grape Pedialyte. He's the first flu baby in this area - first confirmed diagnosis for the pediatrician's office. The only other cases she knows of are in Boulder & Greeley. I'm such a bad Momma.

PLUS - if I get sick (you guys know the drill) I have to go off my RA meds. So not only will I feel crappy from the flu, I'll also have my RA crap to deal with. DAAAAAAAAAAAMMIT!

I've already left a message with my RDs office to find out if they can prescribe something like Tamiflu. I'm really, really, really hoping I don't get sick. I guess if I do, I'll just deal with it along with everything else. It could be worse, right? (hahaha) Ok, gonna go cry now.

Oh, that may not have been the most encouraging words I might have said.  Sorry.

Make hubby stay home and help!!! No going out of town w/a sick  baby to care for on your own.  I will keep both of you in my prayers.

xoxo

Thank you, thank you.

I just hope if I do catch the bug, the hardest part will be while my hubby is off work. He hasn't had to go out of town for quite a while now, so I think we're ok there. And ever since then, Mr. Cardiac Patient listens to his nagging wife and gets his flu shot

Oh, the poor little guy.  How hard it must be for you to watch him deal with his first flu.  How lucky for him he has a loving mother to cuddle him and help him through.

Now, on to you.  YOU ARE NOT A BAD MOMMA.  Well, if you are, then we all are, because none of us have been able to protect our babies from something or other.  Guilt stresses the body.  Don't do that to yourself.

Dear Melanie, that is such a shock!, a baby just does not need this. I'm sure the dang stuff is in the air ....everywhere, and it isn't your fault. Really it isn't.

The Tamiflu sounds like a good shot at helping you, perhaps you can get it just in case? Maybe not, I'm not familiar with it but I think I'll call it up on google.

I sure hope none of the things you fear come true, one thing for sure you are such a loving mom that your baby will be comfortable, and cared for.

love ya, Lynda

Oh man, that seems very early to me. I hope this is not an indication of a
long winter with lots of influenza. I hope the baby feels better and you
manage to escape it.

Melanie,

I had to laugh at I know he got it from one of those filthy shopping carts at WalMart. I just know it!!

I hope he is better soon and that you stay healthy.

Jay

Poor little guy.. he didnt even have to touch a shopping cart.. all he had to do was breathe where someone sick had been breathing..  You are not a bad momma..  talk to us later when you let him wear the same jammies  3 days running and feed him nothing  but  trix for  six meals.

keep him warm but not too warm, plenty of liquids, and as much sleep as possible. I think we feel sicker for them then they  do..none of my kids ever remeber any illnesses.. not even scarlett fever (talk about bad mommy)

 get the tamiflu if possible.

Thank you

Baby Boy seems to be doing better this morning fever wise. It may have to do with the fact that I dosed him with Motrin before anything. He finished a whole bottle and even crawled around for a while and was playing. He's been down about an hour for a nap now. Hopefully he'll still feel decent when he wakes up. I'm going to give him some more Pedialyte then.

I spoke with my RDs nurse and she said there are no contradictions for what I'm taking and Tamiflu. I called the pediatrician's office first thing this morning to see if she'll write a script for my husband and I... and she just called back and said she would!! YAY!!!

I have a feeling I already caught it, but hopefully this will take care of most of it. (Fingers, toes and eyes crossed....)

Hi, OH I HOPE NOT! , please wash your hands a lot and maybe you could wear a mask? My friends wear masks just to walk around the streets. It looks kinda weird (your baby might wonder what the heck is going on), but they swear by them!! Went to walmart and washed my hands about three times and wiped the 'shopping cart' with a soapy towel. OH and a woman was waiting in line to return something when I was returning a purse. I Left!!, she was sneezing. I don't want to get this. Lynda
