Some test results | Arthritis Information

Two weeks after my horrid rheumatoid visit I have some, but not all of my blood test results.  Of course the doctor has not called me with them, but I have been seeing a chiropractor/acupuncture doctor and he was able to get them.  The two rheumatoid related blood tests that I can find on there are these-

C-Reactive Protein- 1.1 mg/dL with normal being <1 mg/dL

ESR- 35mm/Hour with normal being 0-20 mm hour

The chiropractor acupuncture guy is working on my kidneys to bring inflammation down, and does not yet believe I have RA.  What do those numbers mean to you who know about this stuff?  The ESR seems pretty high, doesn't it?  Any input is great, thanks.

Steph

Steph - I am just going to comment on the ESR - it is high, so it means something.  But to give you some perspective, mine was 150 and the highest I have seen someone post in here was around 1260.

Saying that, you obviously have some abnormal blood results as evidence and now the trick is to find the doctor who will cut through the bs that you look too good to be ill, or patronizing "your pain isn't as bad as you say it is", and you get a proper diagnosis and treatment started asap.

Good luck and there are lots of websites to look up the meaning of your results, and you are going to be your #1 doctor, having to make the decisions, so the better informed you are, the better decisions you will make.  Keep posting and let us know how you are doing.  We were all in the same spot as you were at some point, so we understand.  We are pulling for you.  Take care ~~ Cathy
