I can't believe it!!!My insurance won't approve my Humira any longer!!!

Angy

Oh no Angy! Why would they do that? That's awful, I am so sorry. Maybe you can get the drug company to help or provide the meds free. I think there are agency's too that help offset costs. Pitch a fit with insurance company...they may change their minds.

Hugs

Good!!! They will mail you a form you have to fill out.  You'll need to send income info and your insurance info..You can fax it to them if you have access to a fax.  Its a really easy and painless process and they are all very nice, everyone I have encountered at least.  Good luck and let us know how it goesI will Shannon!!! Thank you again!!!Your welcome!

Angy,

I am assuming from your post that you still have insurance but that they won't authorize use any longer.  If thats true, have your doc call and raise a fuss and they will likely reinstate you.  Most people give us without going through all the appeal processes. I worked in a health plan for a long time and we usually reversed the decision once we had been "educated" with the clinical specifics behind the treatment.  Keep in mind that I worked for a not for profit health plan but it was one of the largest in the country.  Not sure how it works with the Wellpoints and Uniteds of the insurance world.

good luck, will be thinking good thoughts for you

Oh yea...theres something your dr has to fill out too but Humira sends them what they need...lol they'll tell you all this tomorrow but I just remembered so I thought I share

Angy, I don't have anything more to add just prayer.  Sorry, to hear this and hopfully it is a glitch!

Angy - when you feel better, contact your State representatives (your local House Rep and Senate Rep) and in a simple, one-page letter, let them know what happened and ask for help as their constituent.  Put a CC at the bottom to the State Insurance Commissioner.  Then file a complaint with your State Insurance Commissioner, and put CC to the State Representatives at the bottom.  Then send it to your local newspaper with the letter and the complaint.  We have to become more vocal and pro-active.  Best of luck CathyAngy,

There is also a perscription help organization on the web at:
www.rxassist.org.  They might be able to help you out as well.  Good luck and prayers for you! Thank you everyone.... I will do all of these things!!!! You all are great!!
