Hi all, please tell me what foods make you feel good and energetic? Thanks, LyndaI enjoy brown rice, beans and vegetables.

Almonds, cottage cheese & blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries (you can get them mixed in the frozen section and they rock!), grilled chicken, rice, broccoli, apples....

I try to stay away from fried foods. I just feel ucky afterwards. (But it's hard to say no to cheddar peppers!!

I know a lot of people say tomatoes make them feel bad, but I haven't really noticed that. We have spaghetti at least once a week and my hubby also makes chili that has stewed tomatoes in it. I love my smoothies. I have a magic bullet which makes great fresh drinks. Put lots of ice, yogurt, berries, other fruits, and blend. Yummy. In the summer I buy fresh fruit and freeze it and in the winter I buy the bagged frozen berries. High-fat foods slow me down.  In addition, if I overeat I feel pretty sluggish for the rest of the day, and possibly into the next day.Black beans and rice, cucumbers, Hagen DaszHi all, do you feel a 'surge' of energy, or just a general feeling of well being? Lynda I generally feel better - wouldn't say I get a boost or anything. I just know the fried foods seem to drag me down. Sorry I couldn't help more. Hope you're having a comfortable day!I don't ever feel a surge of energy from foods, not even when I eat a bunch of processed sugar, but I do notice when I'm eating really healthy I have more energy in general.

Mmmmm....today I discovered organic kefir made with traditional kefir grains at the supermarket around the corner and I just made my first kefir and berry smoothie. It was delicious! AND it has both probiotic and prebiotic qualities. I'm keen on probiotics lately. Not really related to this thread, I guess, except in a really broad sense.
