Lyrica? | Arthritis Information

So i went to rheumy and to my mums request am trying lyrica...
have you gys had it before? how did you do on it? im worried about all the sleepy side effects because as is i cant stay awak eall day and have trouble staying up in class and exams. im starting at 25mg and moving up 25 every 3 days until i reach 150...if i can reach 150....

hopefully this helps some! im not sure whats fibro and whats JRA...its hard for me to tell...A friend of mine was on it for a while.  She said she quickly got used to the sedative properties, but she eventually discontinued it because it caused some problem with one of her seizure/psych meds, I think.  It worked for her pain, though.

Hi,

I have RA and Fibro.  Doc put me on 75 mg 2x a day and immediately within one day I had relief.  Slept better and pain level was better.    He gave me option to up dosage but I am staying on 75mg as long as I continue with this level of relief.    I did not notice much if any sleepiness.

Give it a shot.  I believe you will be happy.

< ="text/">_popupControl();I  have RA/PA and fibro and i take 150mg Lyrica morning and night. Rheumy said i can take and extra 75mg on demand, but i found whenever i altered the dose, i felt the dizziness/foggyness. So you may find that while ever you are building up to the required dose, you may have side effects. I'm dealing with just the fibro fog/tiredness now not the med tiredness. Does that make sense? Hope this helps, and i hope the Lyrica works wonders for you as it has me.
Earlier this month there was some conversation re: Lyrica. That discussion can be found >HERE<

< =text/>_popupControl(); Love Lyrica and it does wonders for my fibro.  You will get used to the side effect of being sleepy from it within a couple of weeks.  It can also give you really bad dry mouth.  You can get OTC sprays and mouthwashes for that.

It also worked really well for me when I had that damaged nerve in the back of my knee.  I went from being on crutches to walking without them in the span of about 2 weeks.  My nerve is still damaged (they take forever and a day to  heal) but only bothers me to where I can't move my toes if I overdo it or drive (have a stick shift car..bad knee is left knee...clutch leg lol).

Thanks i hope it helps me some, im so confused over the dx because at one point 5/6 years ago i had my latest rheumy say no its not JRA its actually fibro....well we think he was wrong and my last rheumy has agreed that i do have JRA for sure....but quite possible fibro also. SOOO ill give this a shot. I feel like i sleep realy soundly, but maybe not? i fall asleep SOOO easy and dont wake up till somthing wakes me up..unless my stomach or bladder hurts at night...but still i cant stay awake all day, i fall asleep in class and in exams even though im not bored...just tired! im hoping lyrica will help with the wierd scalp pain i get, and awful pain from elbow to wrist

thanks for your alls help! picking up the prescription today!

PPfftt. I was GONNA tell you how well Lizzie was doing on it.......but I see she finally made it back

On THAT note......lil' woman, I REALLY think this will help you. From all the things we talked about, it sure is worth a shot! 'Specially for that head/hair tingly thingy!

Noticed in your last post that you think you sleep all night but are real tired in the day.  Has any family member noticed if you snore?  You might have sleep apnea.  Just a thought.  I have two relatives with it and they were the same as you.

Karen
