Indoors?  What fun is that?  I'll be jumping in Lake Michigan on January 1st.

That's just WRONG!  Wrong I tell you!  Wrong!  Morally, physically and spiritually WRONG!

;-)

Pip

Well, I am gagging. My husband is taking the kitchen sink apart as the
countertop people are coming tomorrow to install the new countertops.
There is slime hanging out from the drains and I cannot deal with helping
him right now, lol. I, as a nurse can handle a lot of gross stuff, but drain
(gag) stuff, oh, i can't handle it. I'll sit here and chat while he cleans it up. I
hope everyone is having a great sunday.

Pip  Lori I'm getting a new kitchen and countertops too...what kind did you choose? I haven't made up my mind yet but will probably choose granite. What else are ya doing to the kitchen? We got granite. Was such a hard choice with all of the choices out there.
The granite is so beautiful and unique, no two pieces alike, which I like. It is
called venetian gold. Has some little specks of maroon in it. I also got a
square deep stainless steel sink (I had porcelean) and I'm so excited about
that. The only bad part, is the house is so tore apart right now, dusty, dirty,
I hate the process but the finished product will be so nice. What all types of
countertops are you considering?I didn't see the second part of your question. We also, tore out the old
island and put in one twice as big with a 2 drawer undercounter fridge.
Three cabinets with all drawers and a shelf for my cookbook. The fridge is
great. that should almost be a must for people building new homes and
remodels.

Jasmine I have to agree with Pip!  Wrong, wrong and again wrong!

Lorster, I am exactly the same with slimey stuff!  I gag and dry reach with all that kind of stuff.  And I used to be  nurse too. There is just something about slimey that really gets me going.  If I'm feeling fragile, even thinking about it will start me gagging

Moana  I'm hungry, I want some of that chowder.  It sounds yummy

I had a busy Sunday.  We went to church and then had the annual business meeting after the service and then a BBQ with sausages and hamburgers. That meant we were at church from 9:30 til about 1:30.  Then I went to a friends Tupperware party til about 5:30.  Then Julian (my son's friend who is living with us) had a big 21st birthday party at one of the restaurants nearby, hosted by his father and step-mum.  It was them and us as far as adults went and about 15 young people.  There was finger food and drinks and the kids all got along.  His mum didn't even phone him for his birthday

Anyway we got home at about 10pm and I petty much crawled into bed with the paper to gloat over the election landslide and do a crossword before passing out

Anyway, its 4am Monday here and as usual I can't sleep

Hope everyone has a great Sunday afternoon and evening!!

I know the tore apart feeling...seems like when you work on one thing everything gets messed up. We were going to start at the first of this month but decided to wait til the first of the year...because of all the mess and the holidays coming up.

We are redoing the cabinets first...either refaced or painted...don't know yet but leaning towards refacing and putting in beadboard doors. I'm having a new black sink and stove hood I already picked out. We have a wide large bar that we're cutting down to island size for the middle of the floor and new topping for it...a contrasting color to the countertops.

I kind of want ceramic tile for the counter or island...but hubby prefers granite or, we've looked at some really pretty laminate, then we'll use decorative tiles for the back splash. This laminate I like looks almost like granite....blues w/gold flecks or black w/silver flecks. I'm still looking.  I'm getting a new atrium door too. The cabinets will be the biggest cost and hardest too.   I'd love to have the under counter fridge in the island but thats where my pot and pans hang out.

It's Grey Cup Football day in Canada  CFL...so hubby is all set, beer in, having ham, potato salad etc. for dinner.

Me? hang around and do Christmas cards.  Have a good one.

Rose

Hello

Hope all went well for eveyone else.  Mo, Lori...I'm jealous (but not in a snotty way I made a coconut pie Friday night and had to throw it away...it looked like cornbread and tasted like sweet scrambled eggs! ewww....I used the wrong kind of flour...duhIt happened because Charlie likes pie and he's big enough to reach the back of the counter.Moana. I LOVE beadboard and want to do some of that in my master
bath. We were supposed to have this all done the first week of november
but delays took us to the end. nothing seems to go as scheduled. the
one thing i can tell you is that if we built a house, we would either end up
divorced or one of us dead. i cannot believe how much arguing/fighting
gets done when making desicions. this one small remodel has been a
test for us. we don't agree on anything and he finally told me to make all
the decisions and he would just do what i asked.

Linncn, LOL, the dog ate two of the pies? OMG, how did that happen?   I
didn't think dogs liked pie. That is so funny Don't be jealous of the
kitchen. It cost far more than I expected and I now will be paying for it
far longer than I wanted to. The truth is, we are thinking of selling and
with the market the way it is, we wanted to put some extras into it for
incentive. We have a big house and only 2 of us live here as all the kids
are gone now. We don't need this much space. (5 bed, 4 bath). So,
hopefully it will sell quicker. lorster39411.4610648148 oh...wish you'd caught it on video...you'd be ,000 richer! We have 3 floors altogether. We do have a triple car garage which would be
the only part I would not want to give up as we absolutely need it in the
winter as I am allergic to scraping windshields.

My dog will eat anything.  It doesn't even have to be food.

Speaking of dogs Link...how do you know when one has a cold? Izzybelle's nose is wet and cold...she's not sneezing or coughing but her eyes are really watering too. The new puppy is sneezing,,,could they be allergic to each other's fur? What would you give them for a cold or allergy? Take em to the vet?

I don't know mo.  I wouldn't give anything OTC till you check with your vet.  I know some things, like kaopectate you can give to dogs, but others, like either asprin or tylenol (can't remember which) can be deadly.

did she come from a breeder? This is the new one, right?

Mo, I know that distemper can look like a cold.  I had to put a puppy down once because of that.  You could take her temp (rectally) but I don't know what normal is for a dog. Yes she did...the same one we got Izzybelle from. Her nose wasn't running and he wasn't sneezing yesterday. They don't feel bad...running and playing like crazy, eating real good, and everything. I will take them to the vet if they're not better in a day or two.

You mean we can't take the dogs temp under the tongue?

I think normal for a dog is 99-102.5/103.  Of course everyone has an opinion on what the upper limit should be.  My vet always told me anything over 102.5 to treat, if it gets up to 105 to seek tx.

Good luck!  Hope the new puppy is o.k.

 Isn't distemper a cough...remember I had it about a month ago...and you we're gonna put me down?

Have a nice day everyone! Talk to you later this evening!

 By Gale ...have fun!

When you were talking about her being jealous, I really thought your daughter was jealous of the puppy

Then you started talking about Izzybelle's wet nose! And taking them both to the vet...old age and meds are getting the best of me!

Hi guys!!!! Hey Katie girl. What's up? You working? I tried for hours to take a nap but these two lil monsters kept me awake! LOL You're a puppy addict. It's all good.

I go to work tonight. I just woke up about 2 hours ago. I'm bored. LMAO

Yeah, but it makes your tummy upset.

Nah It makes me fat! LOL They always say that. One of my dad's most common moments was sitting at the dinner table, STUFFING his face with one of mom's new recipes. She'd ask him "so what do you think of it?" He'd say through a full mouth "eh its not great" She'd sigh and say "well I guess I won't make this one again"

Forward 10 minutes, and he's on his THIRD helping - mom's yelling at him "I thought you didn't like it!!!"

Hey Link...did you go to the mall?

Katie where's Justin...being boring like my hubby and watching football?

Nah, he's sleepin. He was "just going to take a nap" LOL right, whatever!

Hey Gale I'm here...did you finish cleaning?

Yep, all done cleaning. Just took two Ultram and two Robaxin, so in about 30 minutes all should be good.

How's puppy?

He's so cute! He's into everything! Izzy loves to run and play with him but she is still so selfish and jealous. He's not a bit intimadated, he thinks he's a Doberman!

Izzy and Ozzy is WAY cute...I like it!

 Thanks....I guess it's ok...

How's your ankle? Does your hubby help you clean?

Yeah, Dale mops the floors and cleans the showers. I do everything else because I'm picky about the way it's done. LOL

Did you get the pictures of Ozzy uploaded to your computer yet. I'm dying to see him!

I used to be real picky, and still am about some things...it just hurts too bad to sometimes.

That's what I just asked you..let me check...

Gale did you get anything yet?

Nope.

The file size is probably too big. I don't suppose you know how to resize them do you? I use Adobe Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro...do you have either of those programs?

Did I tell you I'm finally a grandma?

Michael and his girlfriend adopted a dog from the pound last week. He's really cute...about a year and a half old. They named him Spanallie...after some jock on the General Hospital soap opera. LOL

He's brown/tan with light eyes...looks kind of like a weinheimer only smaller.

How do I know if I have either of those programs?

I forwarded the cancelation email I got. Didn't you get it either? Can you have a virus on your email and stuff?

 AWWW congratulations granny!

Just ran my virus scan tonight, so no virus or spyware. Are you sure you're sending it to the right addy?

Yes and it says message sent to you...then I get a cancellation email

I wore myself out trying to keep up with the "healthy" folks this week. But I had fun and got some christmas shopping done

Sorry to hear about your ankle. My left one has been the pits for a couple of months now, but seems to be better since the imuran. But it does take it toll when I stand on it or walk too much. Darn stoopid left ankle.

When you get an ankle fused, does it just stay in that one position or can you move it?

Glad you had a great time Joonie...I still have not bought a single present...except my new puppy!

The ankle fusion did help, but I still have a lot of forefoot pain and problems. The right forefoot fusion needs to be redone, but I'm trying to put it off as long as possible. And now my right ankle is going.

Oh I got some GOOD stories LMAO! Then I got some stories of just why I do not like being around some of my family.

Like 2 days before my brother even came down my jealous sister was starting in on me. When my niece came to help me clean my house, which was hard for me to let her do, since I do not like for anyone to do something I should be able to do, but the only way it was going to get done was if she helped. So... I had to give in.

Well... that night my oldest brother called and was over at the jealous sisters house, and he asked if our niece was still here and I told him no she went home and would be back in the morning. Then I could hear my sister in the background saying "I wish someone would come over my house and clean it up for me.", in a really snotty tone. Yeah... I just sat there thinking I did not even want anyone to come clean my house, she offered and I let her. My mom told me not to take away her "blessing". And she is the bi-polar niece so she needs all the help she can get to get into heaven. SO... I let her bestow her "gift".

Oh... well my ankle has been getting stiff when  I stand on it for a certain amount of time and then it makes my WHOLE foot hurt and it IS a real BITCH to move my ankle outta that position once it gets in it. Like if I am standing and then go to sit the ankle needs to bend a different way when I sit it jerks and very painful to where I yelp. People look at me nutz, but ya know I just smile.Joonie, is your California brother the gay one?Yep he is.

Jeeze Gale your bones must be real brittle...yours too Joonie

Oh and then... my oldest brother got attitude with me when we were all at a resturant. Man... if our mom had not told me no... I would have shoved his gimpy ass down those 3 steps and laugh when he landed! Get attitude with me for nothing!

We were sitting up on this like platform me, mom and oldest brother. The rest of the family were down below talking and running back and forth from the bar. I looked at my mom and said "Us old gimpy folks are the only ones up here." Then my brother said "Speak for yourself. I am just sick." I was like "I do not feel good, but you do not see me acting like you." He said "Well... I got up at 8am this morning." I said "Well... I have been up since 3:00am this morning." Then he mumble something smart-assed at me and all I could think about was getting up and following him to the steps and push his old gimpy ass down them. Then I must have said it out loud because my mom said "Don't you do it." *snaps fingers*

Hi girls.

Missed you all. Did we all enjoy or holidays? I had to work

Thanksgiving was a little 'different' at our house this year without the kids. But at least I didn't have to work. That must have been hard for you.

Your Mom read your mind joonie! Pushing your brother was probably written all over your face! LOL

 Hey Jay!

Gale was you not in horrendous pain for years?

No, jealous sister is jealous of everyone and anyone. She is just more jealous of me than the rest because she was the baby before I came along. Her words not mine. She literally told me that one time. "I was the baby before you came along." Yeah...

And we have decided this year... that the ones our mother spoiled are the ones that are PITAs. First born and 2nd to last born. And they all said I was spoiled... yeah right! You do not see me getting upset because I did not get to go somewhere with them all those years ago and was left out of just about everything... nope. I just figured I was too young, but after I turned 19 and married it became evident that I was just being left out because I was not a big complaining baby like the other 2 and they wanted to keep people happy and since I did not complain or cause trouble I got left out. It was not until a few years ago... after I told my mom about how I felt left out that they started including me.

It did kind of suck but I get about every other off so it could be worse.

I we went and saw the new nephew, he is a week old today and so cute.

Well guys, Desperate Housewives is starting, and my Ultram and Robaxin have kicked into high gear, so I'm going to go get comfy in bed.

Talk to ya'll tomorrow!  Love ya!!

He is 55 years old, but acts like he is 8. He is just as gimpy as me. And he was not sick... he had a hangover and was wanting more alkie, but they drank it all before he got another glass of it.

Hey Jay! Glad you had a good turkey day!

I can't imagine that Joonie..my mom treated us all the same...except me...I'm the baby.

 Nighty nite Gale love ya

OOo ya still here Mona?

 A spoiled gimpy alkie....now that's sad!

Just got into work. Have to pace myself with the audit tasks. There's certain things you can't do until after midnight....I get all rushed and on a roll and do them BEFORE 12, and then get errors later. Heh so I'm just NOT gonna start until after 12. Problem solved!

At most my oldest brother has is degenrative arthritis, but he had that way before I was born. My jealous sister had her knee operated on, something with bands, like  3 weeks ago... and she is not using her crutches. She said her roommate told her she did not need them.

Hey Katie.

Oh Jay...that new baby's got you thinking bout being a grandpa huh?

Joonie no wonder you don't go around family much.

Mona - DAMN SKIPPY!

I'm sittin her munchin on reece's pieces and listening to christmas music. So peaceful! One down side - my back is KILLING ME. I swear it feels like I have a metal rod for a spine.

We had a MASSIVE leak in the building here - a pipe burst actually - and there was dookie and toilet paper and pee water ALL OVER our gift shop. EW!! It's all closed off now. And apparently, there was some wiring that was submerged, and shorted out. It tripped the breaker, and everyone thought it was JUST the breaker - so they threw it back on!! Fried part of the wall.

Ah, I love this place!

Maybe your mom just wanted you to be independent because of the JRA. Do you see your real dad at all?

Katie I almost ate some candy a minute ago...forgot I have to get blood work done in the morning. Then to the Dr on Wednesday. Oh goody.

You can't have candy before bloodwork? Isn't that a crime in 43 states?????

Mona the wife is done traveling for while. Yeh  We did get the tree up and have the lights on it. The rest will be easy. I still have my waterglobe collection to put out.

Poo. I'm jealous! We put our tree up but we've been battling the kitten and can't decorate it. I think we'll be happy if we can just put lights on it this year. Everytime we leave and come back, she's detached more branches. And NOW she's into "eating" my tree skirt!!

Joonie I dread seeing what thes dogs are going to do with my Christmas tree. That little one in into everything and the older one is OCD and barks at everything thats out of place or strange.

We will put up a fake tree. I just do not want to see what Abi-Kitty will do to a real tree. I had visions of her climbing the tree and getting stuck and me having to listen to her meow all day until hubby got home to get her outta the tree. Then I had visions of the tree going timber.

They all have my home phone # cell phone # and none of them call me. We live at most 10 mins from each other, and they do not bother to visit. Of course it can be said I can visit them, but why when they do not like ya anyways?

Alright girlies. If I start my stuffs now, by I'll be at the "after midnight" stuff....well.....after midnight! LOL

have a good night everyone! Think of me while you're in your nice soft beds.

My ambiem has kisked in and I'm seeing double...guess I'd better go to bed too...love you gals

Nite Katie!

I am going to go watch 28 weeks later. Maybe it will be better than the first one, I doubt it though.

Talk to ya all tomorrow.
