Fibro Question | Arthritis Information

Still new to this crappy Fibro junk. So please forgive me if I repeat myself.

Does the fibro make you feel very weak. I mean to the point that you cannot lift your arms, and when you try to lift your arms it feels like they are tied down or weighed down?

I am asking because leaflet says weakness is part of the side effects for Imuran, but not sure if this is considered that kind of weakness.

When it happened I had been up for a long time, was tired, and really wore out. I went and laid down because both elbows were swelled and hurting (stoopid rain) and I had hubby put the heating pad between my elbows and they were kinda in an indian style on my chest. Well... I went to move my arm to get the remote to change the channel and I could not lift my arm up. It was not asleep, it just felt really really heavy and like someone had it tied down. I could not lift my arm off my chest. I called hubby in to tell him to help me he just looked at me like I was a freaking loon and then lifted my arm up for me. But after the pain pill and muscle relaxer kicked in about 45 mins later I was able to raise my arms and they did not feel weak, weighed down or even abnormal.

Yes, my fibro definitely makes my limbs heavy and feel like weights are tied to them.  My whole body get weak, like just getting outta my chair takes every ounce of will I have.  If I am already tired or wore out, its even worse.

I too just starting imuran for the sarcoidosis and I think the weakness is worse but than I just spent almost a month in the hospital so I know I am very out of shape so who knows!

Me too!!! When I first wake up in the morning it feels like I weigh 500 lbs and feels so hard getting physically out of bed.

ok... so I am guessing the weakness was from fibro.

cool beanz.

Joonie my legs feel weak like that a lot. Sometimes I feel they are just gonna buckle right out from under me.I just saw a commercial this morning that said Lyrica is the only medicine
approved by the FDA for treatment of fibromyalgia. Has anyone tried it for
this?

My current RD is doing clinical trials with lyrica with some of her patients. I am suppose to be getting treated for the fibro, but I think it got overlooked my last visit.

I am going to tell her about how it has been bothering me as of lately when I go back to her the 4th of Dec.

I just did not want the weakness to be from the Imuran, because it is one of those "Tell your doctor about" symptoms, and Imuran is working out so well for me, I would hate to have to give it up.
