Where do I start... THAT'S JUST GREAT!!! Sorry a damn pill helped cause your miseries, but it is good you have one smart doc. Even partial relief is so good, makes it feel like really good things can happen. Best Wishes for continued relief...and hopefully some real progress will be next.

Cordelia,

That is great news!

dreamer.

Glad to hear it, Crody! And here you were beginning to doubt seeing that light at the end of the tunnel.

Hope you continue to improve and hope those new pain patches work wonders for ya!

Huggs!

YAY!!!!!

Yes!!!  I am so very glad that they have found the cause, and have addressed it quickly.  Give that doc a hug for me!  I hope the pain just continues to subside!  I would love to have you back!!!

That's great! But I am curious what this medication that was giving you odema was? It it an RA drug? Hooray!  I'm so glad you're getting some relief.  I hope it keeps getting better and better. Thanks to all of you my friends, for that warm response. Sooo glad to hear your good news Cordelia.  I pray the relief gets better and better.Wonderful, Cordy!!! I'm so happy you're feeling better and you even sound in better spirits. But it's just one of those things where you don't realise how bad it was until you start to feel better. Cordy!!  This makes me so happy.  It's amazing what showing a little leg can do HI Cordy, great to see you posting, I am so happy that your pain levels are decreasing, my son is on epilum, i shall have to keep an eye on that.  Hoepfully now, you will be seeing results soon from Rituxan!!!  Wouldn't that be fantastic?  My rheumy said I couldn't try another for 12 months after Rituxan as it stays in your body??????  Maybe I misunderstood him, I have really bad brain fog.  All the best and look forward to see you posting again, love Janie.XX WOOHOO!!! Wonderful news!!!!!

I don't want to see any stories on the strange-but-true news about a crazed Aussie running around flashing her legs at everyone down under, now!!!! Holy CRAP! That's insane. But I'm SO GLAD you're feeling better!

*hugs*

Cordy-- YAY!!! I'm really pleased that your doctor has got to the bottom of it. I hope this will carry on making you feel better now.

Big hugs to you

So happy to hear you are feeling better.  It is about time! Cordy your GP should have picked up the difference between Edema and RA swelling.  There is a huge difference in the feeling of the two.  RA swelling is usually mushy while that kind of edema is hard and your finger will leave a hole when you push it.  I'm so glad your rheumy was able to pick it up and that you are feeling better.  Hope the improvement continues

Keep feeling better, girl!

Pip

Jas, I promise not to bring about news headlines with my legs...although they are rather good for a nearly forty year old and I am sorely tempted, I must admit. Lol. I think I should flash them more actually.

Oh Cordy! I am sooo glad they finally saw what the problem is! Edema can be incredibly painful. It makes your feet/legs hard as rocks and even the skin hurts, huh?

I have been on Lasix for a few years, now, to control edema. Take it every day, along with giant potassium pills. Even with the large amount of Lasix I take ordinarily, at times, I will still gain 6-8 lbs within about 6 hours, when it starts to act up. My doc told me, when that happens, to double my Lasix and add 2 more potassium, for up to a week. It's amazing how fast your weight can go up and come down from water (fluid) only!

No wonder you were having so much pain! First the dreadful RA pain, and edema on top of that! I am amazed that it went clear to your groin! That's a lot of swelling. Usually my feet, ankles and calves are worst. Sometimes a little in the upper leg, but never, all the way to the groin. Thankfully you got a doc who really looked at your legs!

Don't overdo, Sweetie. I know that's easy enough to do when you start feling a bit better, but I hate to think of you having a relapse.

Take care. I am so glad you are feeling better!

Hugs, Nini

At least now two days off that medication...my thighs especially have softened up again...they were as hard as rocks.

I cannot believe that a tablet caused all this grief...just amazing what side effects can happen with medications.

That's great news!  Isn't it great when you find out that something so simple can make you feel so much better?  I hope you continue to improve and get something better to replace that medication. I will be seeing my GP tomorrow about a replacement medication.

Yes, often the true answers to things in life are simple.

Awesome news Cordy!  I am so excited for you!

Wishing you continued improvement!!!

Thanks, Karen sweetie, I am crossing my fingers too but I am definitely in less pain and these feet will become less swollen as I am off that medication.

It's just such a relief to be out of that constant agony...that I never thought was going to shift. And being able to move a bit more is excellent but I am not pushing my luck and over doing things either. That would be unwise as not being in so much pain still feels somewhat surreal.

And I think this mega pain patch is working as today I needed no morphine and I have only needed half the oxycodone I was taking and I didn't need it until tonight whereas normally I was have one upon waking up in the morning as I was in so much pain.

Cordy, I'm late to the post, but so very, very glad you are finally getting some relief!  I can tell you're feeling better with all the posts! It's so nice to have you "back".

So does the RD think that the edema was hampering Rituxan's ability to help?  Or just that it needs more time?  And Janie, I'd be very curious if there's a long waiting period after Rituxan before trying anything else...that could be pretty disastrous!  As it is, I'm having trouble waiting even for weeks to see if the darn thing is working. My RD didn't so much think that because I am only at 8 weeks now and he just recently went to a Rituxan seminar and the mostly likely kick in time for Rituxan patients is between 8 to 16 weeks on the first round. Oh, I so know about the waiting to see if this darn thing is working. We are waiting together, not far apart.
