Well today I started getting out all the Christmas decorations.  At my house folks, if it doesn't move it is decorated!!!!hehehehe"my one cat is pissed because this little bench he likes to lay on now is covered with holiday material and a moose and a snowman are sitting there"

LMAO!!! That's awesome meme! Meme, what a great post. I would LOVE to see your home. It sounds so
festive and makes me want to get out my decorations. That will happen
soon. I too, love this time of year (except for the cold weather) as it brings
with it so much family time together. I love watching the grandkids open
their gifts. I love christmas dinner with everyone there. This xmas, we will
have a house full of kids and grandkids as well as our son in laws parents
from Oregon. Should be lots of fun. Hopefully 2008 will bring us closer to a
cure for this disease and improved medicines to treat it. Katie go to the pet store and get a can of Boundry what you do is spray the items you don't want her to touch about twice a day . Do this the entire time you have the items out and she will leave them alone.  When I use to be by myself and had only 2 cats it worked real well in fact after  3 years of using boundry I didn't need it anymore the cats knew to stay away from the decorations.  memeOoooo that's the name brand of the spray? Does it stink??? LoL I should try some of that. Domino is good, but she's already 2 and a really mellow kitty. But the baby! Oh my LORD! *shakes  head* She's just....well....a mess! Yes it smells at first but then humans no longer smell after a few minutes but cats and dogs smell it and they willstay away from it.  don't feel bad I have a cat named Cuddles and his is a pissant . Yes it is a new breed of cat who loves to drive it's owner NUTS!!!!~!LOl But aren't those just the BEST at the same time? I wouldn't have the baby any other way!

What a sweet post meme, you almost made me cry. I love Christmas too and love to decorate and bake, shop, have dinners and get togethers with our family and friends. It's wonderful your family does so much for the less fortunate. We do some of that too. Please post some pictures if you can of all your decorations!

About the animals, the tree, and decorations, someone told me to get bitter apple spray at Pet Smart. I will have to have something for my little demons, nothing is sacred to them.

Meme,, I love to decorate and LOVE CHRISTAMAS! I hope this year is better than last. Our family tradition to go to a tree farm about 3 miles from our house and spend alot of time picking out the perfect tree. Last year I felt so bad my hubby, son and daughter went and got it and decorated while I sat in chair hurting and trying to smile. My kids still love to do all the Christmas things like baking cookies, we go to church and I love the music. We go caroling to the senior citizens apts. and come back to church for hot soup and snacks. We also buy gifts for moms/kids that are at DOVE which is a shelter for women and children that have no place to go after domestic violence. Some leave in the middle of the night and don't have anything.  Everyone is usually in such good moods when you go out and the music inthe stores. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!

I could go on and on but you guys got the point, I LOVE IT!

Merry Christmas and Happy B-day Jesus!

The bitter apple spray does work but you have to put some on your finger and give them a good taste of it first!

What a great post meme, our family sounds like yours. We have about 6 or 7 boxes of stuff and we decorate inside and out. I love looking at all the lights in and around our neighborhood. I also love seeing my family and friends (they are home from school for the holidays).

We had the tree problem with our cats when they were younger….they both weigh 27 and 29 lbs so at this point they couldn’t get their fat butts up the tree if they wanted to! they have to settle for sitting under the tree and pretending.

I hope everyone has a happy holiday and I’m excited to hear about what everyone else does!

Thanks for your great post Meme. It made me so nostolgic. I haven't decorated in 7 years because I'm always in Oregon with my boys for Christmas and my husband isn't into all the decorating stuff. But next year, after we've moved, and I'm with the kids again, it's decorating time!!  I used to go all out and I have bins of decorations too, and I can't wait. And by then I'll have 2 grandbabies to enjoy the holidays with!

The one Christmas thing I do bring out is my Spode Christimas china. I started collecting it when I was a teenager and I have alot of it. We use it for Thanksgiving dinner.....

What makes me happiest this time of year is the pleasantness people show eachother. holding open doors for one another, etc. I wish it would extend to all year round./

I helped with a donation of food for the hungry for the first time this year. IT is an amazing feeling. These people are so appreciative of any tidbit. I went through my daughter (AKA>JUNK) an dtook some things in to donate to those that have ......simply put..nothing... the looks on their faces warmed my heart in a way I never thought I could feel.

Michigan is in dire straights this year but their are food banks out there that give to the poor. And trust me, these people are so poor it breaks my heart. I do not really like to be to involved due to RA and always frightened I will get sick but I cannot help but to see the faces of these human beings that are so appreciative. It truly is the meaning of Christmas.

As for me..I enjoy Tradition and Christmas music, that is what makes me happy during the holidays.I dwrap each branch, spray the snow and do the whole 9 yards of "perfection decoration" and I am not up to it this year and daughter will be at her dad's .

But next year...watchout...I will be granbaby and or gandbabies ( we will know soon)and it will be full steam ahead on the decorations and presents!

P.S. special note...my daughter said she bought the baby 2 books, .."Where the Sidewalk Ends " and"The Giving Tree" her 2 fav books as a child growing up. I told her that I still had those and she said,

"""yea aell  I wanted new ones for my child cause mine are all worn out"""".

SO weet! I cried! I really did! THe first book I bought, the Giving Tree she came to learn about at the Peds office cause she was in all the time with her allergies and sinus, ears, ect. I need to drop the Pediatrician a note on that......isn;t that just the sweetest gesture?

See why I am happy? Is it no wonder I can find joy sometimes through all this RA junk?It ALLLL About family folks.

Day 3 of decorating!!!!  We are going to go do some errands today, but I still havea tree to decorate.  OM I got alot of ornaments too, my mother started me on my own collection and I have my daughter's collection too.  I can't put all of them out either.  Cripes you should see the animals(stuffed) under my tree too.   We have snow today, so we may go look at lights tonight then come home and watch Polar Express on ABC.  We still got a nasty storm coming Saturday night will have to watch it close because of the possibility of freezing rain.  The house just looks so festive, I just hope the weather gets a little calmer so I can get the lights up on the tree outside.  memeOh my, can I have some of your energy PLEASE!!!!!  After working full time, I find I just need to rest on the weekends!!!  My goal is to clean up a bit on Saturday as hubby is working all day and into the night and if hubby is up to helping Sunday, we will put up the tree!
