OT: What do you want for Christmas | Arthritis Information

Share

Every year... I am not sure what I want for Christmas. Because when I was growing up I was not really ever asked and if I was I did not get what I wanted and it usually was one thing all my mom could afford.

Anyways... I know hubby is going to ask me again what I want this year again... *sigh* and I really do not have anything in mind for him to waste money on me for. Last year I just asked for a GameCube and the year before that a Nintendo Advanced SP. My daughter has played my Christmas presents more than I have

I tried to tell hubby... I will just split daughter Nintendo DS with her and he did not have to buy me anything. He said nope you are getting something.

The only thing I can think of that I really would waste money on is... a heated mattress pad for the bed. As of lately I have been getting cold easily and I think me ole heating pad is tired of trying to warm my whole body

So I guess I am asking for a heated mattress pad.
What I really want is a pain free day. I'm sure we can all relate to that Christmas wish.  Wouldn't it be fabulous to go all day on Christmas without even a minor ache?

Oh, and I have a heated mattress pad... heaven on earth!!! Especially since I keep my bedroom at 62 degrees!

Oh you'll love that Joonie...I got one last year and I'm very happy with it!

Joonie, I had no idea you were a fellow Nintendo fan! I have Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, and Game Cube. My all time favourite game is Banjo-Kazooie.

I know my BF is getting me half a Wii because I was there buying him half a Wii at the time. It's hard not to play the Wii until Christmas, but so far we have managed. I can only commend ourselves from getting on top of that Christmas project because Vancouver is already sold out of Wiis.

I may also get Mario Galaxy as a surprise.

Oh yeah... I am a nintendo fan. I have the original nintendo I got when I was 11 from my dad. I have a super nintendo, I got that one for my b-day a few years back. I gameboys and we recently aqcuired a nintendo 64 at a thrift store for and it works!

I am a Mario Fan and want to be a Donkey Kong Country Fan, but... those games are way outta my price range right now.

I recently decided I like Zelda. Never played it before last year. I know I was missing out... but I always seem to miss out on the good stuff the first go around

Right now... I am working on playing Harvest Moon on GameCube. Pretty good game if you like sims or something of that sort. I play it when my hands and fingers are not acting up.

Welp, Heated Mattress pad it is! Thanks for helping me make up my mind, everyone!Joonie, that hand thing can get in the way of Nintendo enjoyment, all right! I like Zelda except there is always too much running back and forth across a vast field or sailing and sailing across a vast ocean. It gets better once you get the horse or the portal or whatever shortcut.

Donkey Kong is pure goodness.

My last Game Cube game was Resident Evil 4 (scary good!). Then I got part way through Mario Sunshine but it wasn't as good as the other Marios so when I got stuck I gave it away.

I know what you mean about game prices----my advice is to befriend other Nintendo afficianados and borrow and trade. I also often buy used games.

Right now I'm into Dance Dance Revolution on the PS2. I'm into Nintendo but I'm not above playing with PlayStation sometimes. I like the PSP a lot.

OMGosh, I can't wait for Christmas when I can PLAY MY NEW HALF A WII! This thread has caused my Wii excitement to reach a fever pitch!

yeah we have a playstation 2. I like most of the games on it, except the analog controls hurt my thumbs sometimes. So... I do not play the playstation as much. I mostly play .Hack on the playstation. I have the whole series plus one of the new GU games, hubby bought me for my b-day this year or was it last year. I have to go back and redo mutation and then I can move on to the other 2 .hack games I have not opened yet.

We mostly buy my games used at a game store, but sometimes even at those places they are expensive. I think one of the Donkey Kong Countries I was looking at was like , which was the cheapest on the shelf. I just could not bring myself to pay that.

I liked Mario Sunshine, but not enough to rent it for another 5 days

But all seem to be useful for something

Idid pick up a heater for my bathroom * no more freezing to death after my tubby bath* and I found a swinging cradle by Fisher Price at the Goodwill for my daughter....BRAND NEW....50....I love a bargain.

Got socks, maternity pants and a few shirts for daughter and for her bfriend,he got socks and the idea that he doesn;t have to buy much baby stuff *grin*. A new walker for mom at the Goodwill ( again brand new and very fancy for a mere, .99.....fun stuff for sis and bro-in-law, and for the great nephew , Gabe, a Shrek towel ( clearanced at WalMart, .00), and haven't gotten Nya's yet. I will send my son wild looking boxer shorts and socks as usual....and probably save my Christmas surprise for the after Christmas sales....dunno.

Lots of bills this year from mom's surgery and still paying off 1 root canal and dental work for me ( thankyou so very much RA, and Osteo)

It is so very, very hard not to buy the great bargains ....I have to tell ya...I am a bargain hunter obsessive-compulsive. bad! VEry bad! SO it has been a challenge for my bargain hunting inner self!

Oh yeah, geesh, I almost forgot......from my mom, my mother worked it out with my sis, I am borrowing my sis' laptop for the time being and I have the highspeed internet ( the Comcast one)for my Christmas  and beyond..kinda nice, I mean rather,,,,,really nice! I love this highspeed stuff!

jode

omfg I want a Wii.

And now:

This Christmas I want............world peace........

No really, I want a Wii...........

Linncn, we have 007 GoldenEye for my Nintendo 64...it's a great game! Even thought the console is getting old that game just doesn't get tired, and I like that it can be two players (We have four handsets for the 64. It's great for MarioKart). And Pin Cushion, we have Guitar Hero 1 and 2, and I like it but I find it bothers my hands more than most games so I'm not very advanced in my "career"...heh.

I'm really into board games, too, especially Settlers of Catan, and that's good 'cause you can play them even when your hands hurt.

Ariscolwell, if you're ever in my 'hood you can come over and play with my Wii (or at least my half!).

Ugh...that sounds dirty.

Yes,Virginia, there is Santa Claus...

For me,  a set of pure linen sheets, no night sweats.  Heaven!

Joonie, if there is a Bed, Bath and Beyond near where you live their heated mattress pads are 50% off.  I just got one for our guest BR at that price.  Living in Wyoming I have had one for many years.

p.s. Love your avatar

Take care

GoldenEye!! That's it.  I wasted sooo much time playing that game Great question!

If I could have anything I wanted, I'd want a cure for this dadgum disease!

Barring that, a Wii...definitely a Wii...or cash, so I can make rent in January! kschultea39415.7931134259I wanna Wii too.I wanna wii thwee......aaaaaahahahhahahahahaha Oh man I crack myself up!WAIT! I'VE GOT IT!! If EVERYONE had a Wii...............THERE WOULD BE WORLD PEACE!! We'd all win!!

Not much cash for Christmas this year so my hubby and I will probably not exchange gifts and just get the kids. They want all the video games and stuff that costs way too much. I would like my bathroom/laundry room finished. Hubby has been working on it for a long time. Bathroom is finished and I finally get a bubble bath! Woo Hoo! So I think that's a good present!

But... I do make it up to him in other ways.... probably likes it more than me buying him something.
