I have been on pred now for over a year. I still have swelling, pain, and everything else that goes with RA and Fibro. I really do not want to take it anymore. I have gain alot of weight. Is there another drug that I could take that would not make me gain weight???? I am sorry if this has been asked before, I looked in the "search" but did not find what I was looking for.

Not that i know of, Sandra. Maybe a anti-inflammatory? You on any of those? I was not and now I am and my swelling is down by half.
But when the pred starts to wear off I swell. But throughout the day... I am not so swelled like I was before the Imuran.
So ya might wanna ask about an anti-inflammatory or a stronger one if you are on one.
Keep us posted on if you find an alternative to the pred.
I can't seem to get off the pred either or even stay below 10 mg for long. I didn't recognize all your meds, but are any anti-inflammatories? Naprosyn has helped me some but it takes a few days.

THERE'S ULTRAM OR TRAMADOL FOR SWELLING THAT'S WHAT MY RHUEMY HAS ME ON WITH THE PREDNISONE, IT TOOK MY SWELLING AWAY BUT EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT HOPE YOU GET SOME RELIEF. cortisone would be the only thing similar that I can think of. It's a steroid anti-inflammatory as well, though it's success rate as a pill is not as great as pred. The side effects of cortisone pills are less though. You could always give it a shot!
