Help... what is going on? | Arthritis Information

I'd appreciate any ideas.. I have a call into my dr and waiting for a return call... but in the meantime...

We just got back from Disney last night after 4 nights.  My legs started hurting after two days and then my ankle swelled and is super, super sore to the touch now!  I limped home, basically, and today I feel like a truck hit me!  My arms hurt, ankle is worse, legs hurt, neck & back hurt and I can barely keep my eyes open.  I had to take my daughter in for some tests today and honestly felt like calling 911 on the way home because I couldn't breath and I couldn't keep my eyes open and when they were open, I could hardly focus them.

Is this just a result of the vacation?  I really didn't overdo it, only parks in the morning and relaxing poolside most of the day.  Not my typical commando Disney vacation at all.  I have no fever, just so so sore and tired.

Is this what life holds from now on?

Thanks,

Karen

Unfortunately, you just described me after a night at our local amusement park...no rides even for me....just pushing the baby stroller for my friend's baby, while also taking pics of the other 2 adults and 5 kids.

Sorry to say I'm the same way. I started this major battle myself after my return trip from Mexico with my husband and our 4 kids. 4 kids on a Mexico vacation? Yeah; I over did it....but it happends to me just about everytime I half way over do it. I've just learned to expect it.

I just plan for down time afterwards....don't let the fear stop you from enjoying yourself. Lifes too short.

Get some rest....that's what you need the most Karen. (And some pain pills

Hope you're feeling better soon.

Our family gets yearly passes to  Universal Studios FL.  The last couple years I've only been able to stand going for about 2 hours and I'm done. I've learned to put a limit on what I can do there and how long I can stay. It sucks, but if I go any longer than 2 hours, I am done for the night and the next day..the pain was too bad. Now I keep telling my husband and son that I want to see how I feel now going for a regular day now that I'm feeling better.  That's the benefit of living here and getting passes, I don't feel like I have to cram it all into one day.

I hope you feel better, I hate having that run over by a truck feeling.  Sounds like you need to go in for a Prednisone shot.  They are fast acting, will get your body out of the flare, and get everything settled down.  I would be so much worse if it wasn't for a few shots in the *bottom* to settle things down.  It gives your other medications the opportunity to do their job and speeds the healing process.  I hope you had fun in Disney anyways!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your replies.  I took some Naproxen last night and went to bed at 8pm... woke up at 8am!  I feel a little better this morning and plan on taking it easy today.  I was supposed to go down on business in December for another 4 days but I just cancelled out because there is no way I can do it.  We have a family cruise scheduled for January and I don't want to be run down twice in two months

I think there is no more avoiding that something is definitely wrong with me.  I kind of liked living in my denial world, but alas... no more denying that I will never be the same again.
