Okay so I've been way into this simple beading, and I wanted to show you what I've done so far!

Good for you Katie! They are very pretty. I could never get my hands to cooperate in a million years on something so intricate. My favorite is the teapot bracelet. That is great stuff.  I have been wanting to try beading for awhile but have yet to take the plunge. Those are gorgeous!Wow, Katie I am impressed!  I can't work with beads that size anymore.  My fingers won't cooperate.  The smallest I work with is 4mm now.  You keep going girl!  If you are in a bead store one of my designs is in this months "Simply Beads" on page 82 Oh neat! I'll have to see if I can find that!

I shake A LOT when I'm working on these, and they probably take me longer than a "normal" person, but I've found myself soooo clam when doing them, and so accomplished when I'm done that it doesn't bother me. I've sat on a lot of these beads for a while, and never knew what I was doing with them. But I putzed around online and found so many patterns that just "made sense" in my head I decided to try them!

By the way, do you know any good online places that have patterns or tutorials??
Fantastic bracelets Katie.  It is a bit addictive isn't itMe? out of trouble? Mwuahahahahahahahah never!

Oh, Katie! These are awesome! I wish I could get my hands to cooperate to do something creative like that. I tried to start a quilt with cross-stiched pictures of dinosaurs on it for my oldest and I ended up with swollen hands. I got one damn square done and that was it.

Congrats on being published Mary B! Do you have any pics you can share with us?

Hope everyone is having an awesome and comfortable weekend!

Of course I do!
Here are some.  Most magazines have a "how to do" section in the back.

The last link is my website.  I am not trying to sell anything (not directed at you Katie, just in case any other person has a problem with it) but you can browse and if you have any questions or need any help just email me from the website.

WARNING, WARNING, WARNING.  BEADING IS ADDICTIVE.  KATIE YOU ARE WARNED!

OMG i agree beading is VERY addictive!!! It is very calming as well.  I'll post some pics of the ones Im doing when i get around to getting my dads camera again...Katie I love em!!!  Here are some more links for some designs.

www.bead-patterns.com  (this one theres a section of free downloads, and also ones you have to pay for, but read what each indv. download says if you intend to sell any.

if you go to www.hobbylobby.com they have some as well too

and www.firemountaingems.com has some designs and also you can order beads on there as well

The only Hobby Lobby is out in Pensacola, and we are just DYING to get out there. It's killing us...LOL Katie,
Technically I do design and sell jewelry, but it wasn't an advertisement.  I just want to convert more people to the dark side of beading addiction LOL I know. I was teasing you. I think I'll be helping you convert people......it's soooo addictive! omg kate those are so pretty! i try to knit but i'm not to good at it, i think you've converted my to trying. what do you need to do it? Beads, crimp beads (to close the ends off) clasps, and beading wire. It's really that easy. There are some harder designs that I want to try, and I know for those Ill need beading needles, and some extra pieces....but Im not that smart into it yet. LOL thanks! when you get more done you should defiantly post them up. I’m just so amazed on how good they look! Nice work, Katie!

You have a great eye for color matching and a sense of whimsy!  Whimsy goes far in my book.

Back to the topic...

Are you using plastic or glass beads?

WTG KATIE! VERY NICE!!

That looks like it takes lots of time and patience of which I have little of. LOL

Love them all!

Some plastic, some glass. I mix n match!

Kelly - I drop LOTS too. The kitties help me find them....LOL

Kaite's kitties are going to have sparkly poopsie!

Twinkle, twinkle baby... twinkle twinkle.

joonie39417.9552546296Katie, I was doing beading a few years ago and I just got too busy and sort of ran out of steam with it. I still have a lot of beads, some still in the packages. They are yours if you want them. Email me your adress again and I will mail them to you. I am not sure what else I have to go with them...but I think I have a clear plastic tackle box thingie for them too. You can have it all. If I have time to get back to one of my crafty projects, it will be scrapbooking...as I still have a bunch of that stuff too, and a book that is only half way finished!(email to my racrunchy addy)

LMAO

Love your creations Katie. There are some bead dealers like Fire Mountain that have some tutorials. I have learned a lot there. I wish I had a couple hundred dollars to spare to spend on beads. Oh what fun it would be.

Keep it up.
