SSI Crap! | Arthritis Information

Ok so... I did not receive a check last month which in turn cut off my medicaid. According to the letter I got it was because hubby was getting paid 3 times last month which made us reach their limit.

So... this month figured it would resume like it did a couple of times before. But nope nothing.

Called today to find out why. Said they cut me off completely because I have not been reporting wages. BIG SHOCK! I mean... no one ever told me I had to mail in his check stubs every month like this lady just said. I just know they said if anything changed to inform them. Well, nothing has changed income wise since I gave them check stubs last year.

How do they except really diabled people to keep up with if they sent in that months wages? Just seems off to me.

So... tonight I am going to get hubby to hunt down all his check stubs since last year and going to take them to SS office.

Lady said something about adjusting my payment every month. Well... a couple of them months I was saving them folks money, as hubby made less than they estimated him to make, therefore they would have adjusted my check to cover what he did not make.

joonie39419.4582638889It was not a year since they last seen hubby's check stubs it was june '07. That is when hubby got his last 25 cent raise. So... nothing new since then. DUH!joonie39419.4647569444Ah yes, the government at its best.  Sorry you have to deal with this and I hope you get it cleared up soon.  How aggravating. Gotta love beaurocracy.  Not sure I spelled it right, but it sucks either way.  Last month DH and I got an eviction notice, so we went up there to pitch a fit with receipts in hand.  Their explanation?  "Sorry, computer glitch."  Grrrrr.  Hope you get it sorted out.

Joonie I don't have any experience with SSI but man why does it seem you get so much crap...I agree with Amber. Hang in there hon and call them back.

I wish I had some words of wisdom, but I don't!  Hang in there!!!

Phats

I went to the SS office today, just got back about 45mins ago. So... I gave them hubby's last 2 months of check stubs and asked if I would get a check this month and she said no.

I have read everything they ever sent me and they never said anything about sending in his check stubs each month.

Well... one thing outta it all I am a little smarter

I am working on getting SSDI. I have yet to get ahold of someone in the medical records office at the children's hospitla where I was DXed. Every time I call the lady is not in.

Maybe if I get medical records stating when I was DXed they will switch me over to SSDI. Which is not better, because I would only get 0 a month and then .40 of that will go towards medicare Part D. Not even sure the left amount would cover co-pays & meds if I have a bunch of dr visits in a month.

Oh well... anything is better than nothing.

I still reiterate: why did any of them NOT tell me?

Why did they not mention it on the letters they send to notify me when my check was getting cut off for last month?

Oh well... not going to fret over it. Still sucks.

Hang in there.

Oh get this...

A 6 months back when I reported hubby's 25 cent raise, I asked to speak to my case worker or who ever worked on my case. The lady says I have no case worker or anyone one specific person who works on my case.

BUT TODAY! Today... when she took copies of the check stubs she said "I will give these to your case worker."

Yeah... and 6 months ago I did not have a case worker! I probably still do not, but still why get my hopes up like that.

It should pick back up in January, hopefully. If not screw it. I say that now, but ya know.

So sorry Joonie,  If you are like us ever penny is counted.  They love to screw with the working people.  They don't like all the paper work we create.  At one time they made me paid back money because my husband got two many unenploment checks one month.  We just got a raise on our ss, so they  they took it out of the ssi check.....LOL...we now get .51 a month instead of .01.  Years ago we couldn't get med. card for husband because he drew too much ss (because he worked his hold life). I could get a card because I hadn't been able to work in last 10 year and drew only 241 a month. Then I meet the right person who was smart enough to   conbinded our income as a couple.  mine being low and his being too high it came out right amount when put together.  so we were entitle to med help.  If they keep raising our checks (20.00) this time we will lose it sooner or later. like 20 is going to cover anything.  I AM VERY SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR SITUATION IT IS CRAZY THEY PUT PEOPLE THROUGH SUCH THINGS, I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING WORTH WHILE TO SAY JUST WANTED TO SAY I WAS SORRY YOU HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS HARDSHIP WITH EVERYTHING ELSE.

We will manage without it. In-laws will help us out. I am just hoping next year is going to be different then this year. Each year seems to get better, but still things crap out on ya.
