Infusion not happening now!!!! | Arthritis Information

HI guys, I was all set to go and have the 2nd infusion tomorrow, but the drug company rep phoned me and asked if my Rheumy (who ok'd the 2nd infusion) was aware of the side effects I had suffered for 9 days after the !st infusion.  I said I wasn't sure if he knew as I had only spoken to his secretary.  So I was advised to phone him asap and let him know before the infusion tomorrow.  He phoned me at 7.30pm this evening and asked me what were the side effects, they were, nausea, mouth ulcers, dizziness, irritable bowel, headaches and disabling fatigue.  He then said he was not happy to go ahead until he has some more info from the company.  So for now I have been advised to put my MTX up by 2.5mg to 12.5mg per week.  He will get back to me.  I must admit I am glad I am not having to be in the car all day again, I am so fatigued, having an early night, take care all, hugs Janie. The continuing roller coaster ride of Janie's infusions...I am glad you get to rest tomorrow instead but hope they sort it all out soon so you can get on with the process.  Sheesh. That really sucks! :( *hugs* hang in there hun, somethings gotta give! Everything for a reason, you know. Thanks Katie and Cordy, I appreciate your concern, I will just grin and bear it, thats all we can do eh?  Love Janie.XX Janie - I must have missed a post here, but why did the drug rep know about your reaction?  Sorry its not going well - Cathyhi JSNM, sorry I should have explained, she was in the picture from early on as a kind of support person, she set everything up, the drug was being donated for free by the company, and she wanted to know how everything went before she set up the 2nd infusion.  Hope that clears it up for you.  Janie. Janie, Im sorry your not going to be getting the infusion now.  But maybe its for the better till your dr can get more info about the reactions you had.  Hopefully your dr will feel comfortable enough to give you something for the reactions so you will be able to get the infusion again.
