A few weeks ago I posted the news that a new technique had been developed to make regular skin cells act like stem cells. This was a great breakthrough as it could potentially circumvent the embrionic issue. Today it was announced that mice had been cured of sickle cell aenemia with these stem cells.

Hey GOGO,

That must be an old article as I thought they have already cured boy with sickle cell using stem cells.

StemmCell4Me, this is with the new stem cells that they're making from regular skin cells, so that's why it's a breakthrough.

Thanks for the handy link! That's a great site, and I like the hopeful news about your procedure, but simplified, with the less agressive killing off of the immune system. You're really a beacon of hope for all chronic disease sufferers.
