Even increasing my pred to 10 mg does not seem to be helping much. I am even getting "tingly" areas on my back now. And all day I have been mixing up words and sentences and unable to think clearly enough to work. I struggled all day with a simple task. This is how I was when things started getting really bad and, except for prednisone, I am maxed out on all my meds. Now what?

That's all. Don't really need anything but a chance to express my concern without worrying my family more.

Oh, and both kids are moving home from college this week too and we are reduced to a 1 bedroom 3/4 (tiny, tiny) bathroom (accessible only through our bedroom!) because of remodeling that was supposed to be done before this week. So we are adding the contents of two apartments and 2 more adults to this mess. Oh and son's girlfriend is staying one night here also. Love having them here but I don't know how we will do it.

Laker

Laker, it sound like normal pre Christmas chaos to me. Sounds like you maybe feeling a tad overwhelmed and I don't blame you. Remember, you aren't alone though, most of us are feeling that way right now. Those of us with RA more so as pre Christmas tasks are even harder for us to get done.

Try and write things down if that helps you work though things, it does me at times.

Hope things improve for you and that you feel better soon. Laker...I wish I had some clever remedy for you but I'll have to echo Ms. Cordy's post. I pray you can relax and enjoy the time you will share with your family. I too have one coming home from college in 2 weeks. It will be tight but I am so excited!!!

Laker -

I know the last thing you want to do right now is stop and think about your health - but mixing up words and tingly up and down your spine doesn't sound so good.  Can you get in to see the doc?  Or a second opinion?

Pip

I agree, Pip, that that is a good idea. I think she need to look after herself first...sounds like a lot of emotional stress coming your way and it's important to take care of you first.

I have problems with my speech when my inflammation levels are high. I think you should be checking it out too.

Don't carry all the stress through this time, get your family including the college kids to contribute to the household and it's goings on so you aren't doing it all. You just can't with this disease.

Take care.

I am sorry Laker. Maybe you are flaring? and the 10mg of pred is not enough right now?

But like Pip! pointed out... tingling in the back area does not sound good. Maybe get it checked out, and that has something to do with you not doing so well right now.

Keep us posted.

Much huggs!

Yes, I'm worried about that mixing up words part especially.  Please look into it quickly and let us know how you're doing.

Hi Laker, I agree with everyone who posted and  I'm here to urge you to see your doctor and involve the rest of the family.  It doesn't help to keep them out of the loop. Let us know how you're doing.  You know we worry....Lindy Oh sorry i hope you feel better soon. It is probably a good thing to call your doctor. Try to take it easy on yourself at least mentally. Sometimes I get the things and it goes away as quickly as it came. It always scares me, I think oh no this again. Because sometimes I start my bad flares this way. But often it goes straight away or isn't as bad. If it is bad we are here to listen. Good Luck!
