OT - Chat Tuesday... | Arthritis Information

Hi!!!!!!!!!! I realize some of you may see this before it's actually Tuesday....because well, it IS before tuesday. But I'm up all night anyway, so I figured it didn't really matter when I started this. Besides, it's tuesday for the Aussies, right??

JUSTIN'S HOME!!!

The inflamation really isn't that bad, it's just in a terrible terrible spot so it's really painful. All his lab work and cultures came back perfect, so they said "here's a bottle of 100 loratabs and a refill, sorry you hurt" and sent him home. LOL

We call to make his GI and PCP appt tomorrow. :) YAY! His spirits are MUCHO lifted. I think he was upset, and worried that they were seeing him as crying wolf. But once they realized he REALLY was in pain, they did everything to control it and get it down, and then gave him plenty of pills for the future.

Basically, on the spots where they cut and then reattached his small intestine, there's scar tissue build up AND slight inflamation. Um, OWIE?!

So anywhos! I'm at work, and it's just lovely. I got to drive in some of THE THICKEST FOG EVER!!! It's insane! It's so thick, I kid you not, I MISSED my turn into work! Easy on those Lortabs, especially given his GI issues.

It's not that he takes them a lot, it's that they didn't give him ENOUGH. These people told us he was looking at a 6 week recovery time, and BARELY gave him meds to last 2 weeks. Um....HELLO!?!? I think they saw the error though.

So far, the loratabs have evened him out! His Crohn's gives him loose bowels, and so the pain meds make it normal. (where as I'd be constipated as HELL - LOL)

That's really good news about Justin being home. Poor guy. You both have been through alot. At least now, he can get some relief and relax at home.

OH, and, it's 32 minutes until Tuesday in IL. I'm staying up late to watch the freezing rain come in and weather man said thunder will roll. Crazy in the winter, thunder??? Actually, I stay up late alot and sleep the day away. My days and nights are mixed up. LOL

In California, it's cold and only 9:30 p.m. It's supposed to get down to 27 degrees where I live tonight! That's extremely cold for us. I'm in So. Cal., near San Diego and we're supposed to be warm all the time

Katie, I'm so glad Justin's home

Take care of yourself and do be careful driving in that terrible fog!

Hugs, Nini

I don't think that's uncommon; the doc could get in trouble if he/she gives a script for several hundred Lortabs.  It also makes sure the patient follows up with a physician.

Anyway, his doc said that we could just make an appt with a PCP, and let them do the pain management portion - and also that until he gets in with the GI a PCP can refill what he has. So that's good. He's not on any medication that a regular doc can't monitor. So that's the agenda for tomorrow!

YAY for Katie!!

My hubby just came into the room singing... I should have been a pharmasist...."

He was brining me my night meds.

Alright, I'm gonna go do what needs to be done and then play a game. Nighty night for a little while!

Yeah, he thought he "should've learned to rope and ride
Wearing my six-shooter riding my pony on a cattle drive" too

Darn you toby keith!!

I think someone drank some grumpico soda before bed last night... *looks hubby's way*

So far Kelsay has school this afternoon.  Im hopeing they dont have a snow day cause of this stupid rain....she gets pretty upset when she doesnt have school.  Its gotta stop raining, I have arrands to run today and I dont wanna have to be driving in this Ok so I have to brag about Kelsay for a min.  I am SOOO proud of her.  One of the guys that is working for hubby this week, they had a fire in their house some months back and lost everything.  He was over last night waiting for his ride to come pick him up and the subject somehow came up while he was talking to Kelsay.  So after he left Kelsay asked if she could give some of her polly pockets to his girls, I told her no not polly pockets cause they werent old enough for them yet (they are 3 and 10 months).  So she decided she was going to give them some of her barbies since she didnt need all of them.  It was SOO sweet.  I was really amazed that she came up with wanting to do that all on her own.  Aww - So you should brag!!!   Mum's have every right to do that, and sounds as though your Kelsay has a lovely caring nature!  Has to be the way she has been brought up, and obviously had good role modelling.  So, give yourself a big pat on the back and allow yourself to be very proud!!  Our kids are sooo special!! Well, I'm staying home today.  Kids still have school - their prayers didn't work!!  Lots of accidents out in the Chicago suburbs; I'm just going to stay put.  At least school is only 5 blocks away.  My office is 20 miles away!!!  According to the radio, the commute is horrible this morning.

Katie~Yay! Justin's home....I am so glad...also glad for the pain relief.  I am hoping this sees him through and there are no more visits to the Hospital for another year!!!  You have had enough.

Shannon~Brag on my sweetie...she is a beautiful girl...inside and out.  Must take after her mommy!

Joonie~your hubby is going through Man PMS, kinda like the "Man Cold"

Jaz~I think I would stay home too.  It is snowing here on top of ice.  Yep, good time to stay home.

I am going to get my message and have to get myself in gear.  I am still very tired, and my sore throat is still here.  I will call the RD office and see if I can get my infusion tomorrow.  I hope so.  I need some relief.  I am also going to try to get our Christmas letter done and finish Christmas cards.  So, I hope everyone has a great and painfree day!

Yeah, Shelly.... hubby started acting a little less nice yesterday, he was not as helpful like he had been. And complained quite alot about certain things he seemed so eager to do for me the days before. Then this morning he was just a plain out grouch! He yelled at me for waking him up to go to work, can you believe the nerve?!

Oh well... I am over it until he gets home from work. I think hubby might be diabetic or somewhere along those lines, because he ate almost a whole bag of Statburst candy, and he woke up grouchy.

Or he might have a starburst candy hangover?

It is 80 degrees outside but in my house it is 69 degrees. I am freaking freezing!

He might actually be diabetic Joonie.

Well, it is snowing and 18 degrees...I'll trade.  I can't get warm either, and it seems that I will not be getting my infusion tomorrow b/c of this stupid sore throat/sinus thing.  Hate this.  I need my infusion!!!

I am learning that the weather is not my friend anymore.  It is hot here today so I am having a fairly good day but cold and more rain tomorrow.  I am going to just get ahead of the game and take a pain pill tonight so I am ready for the cold pain tomorrow.  AAGGHHH I am not fond of cold wet weather at least we didn't get the ice Oklahoma got.

Hopefully I will be able to keep my infusion appt. for next week, and all will be good.  I am hurting and it is supposed to be below zero tonight with wind chill, and I have decided I may stay mostly in bed tomorrow to try to get rid of this.

Oh wait a minute...MIL is coming what am I thinking?  I need to clean my dirty house!  Yep, there went paradise.!

Hmmm. your doc wants your immune system to do what it is supposed to do? If that was my doc he would be truly in for a disappiontment. I hope your immune system behaves a little bit and does that for you. Arggg. Mine is misbehaving big time. My tummy is making alot of noise and my head is broken. It hurts.

So, he gave me a pain pill & muscle relaxer, but now all the pain is coming back 3 hours later and I can barely move. I have a few swelled body parts that hardly ever swell, like my wrist and toes.

My knees are horrid. Just barely move them and it feels like my bones are going to break thru the skin. I twisted my right knee tonight. Because they are so weak and painful any movement hurts. UGH!!

Com'on Thursday!!!

I finally got around to scaning pics of Kelsay.  The first one is her school and the second is her Christmas pic

You have every right to be proud of her. What a very sweet thing for her to think of. She obviously has a great role model

Have a great evening!

Hugs, Nini

Katie, Shannon is not making it up...Shannon really knows somone who moved to HI to live on a volcano *inactive* and had a lettuce farm.  Shannon thinks Katie is off her rocker

THanks Nini, she looks sweet but she has her moments

Well Katie thinks that by using " by the word "knows" Shannon is keeping a vital piece of information out, and therefor may not ACTUALLY know this person.

So Katie says "poo poo on you"

*edited because Katie doesn't pay attention to life...

Ok so Shannon has never *met* this person.....it was for a mortgage we did when Shannon worked in the mortgage business.  Can you believe that nobody wanted to do that loan?  Shannon means its ONLY a volcano

Well at least Shannons animals arent eating Shannons christmas tree

Oh so Shannon wants to play rough, eh?

At least Katie isn't being stalked by a creepy guy across the street.

What stalker?
