Me again!
I have been today at my wits end to see a Dr at my Health Centre who is also a Dr at a Rheumatoid Clinic at the local Hospital.
He has given me a script for SALAZOPYRIN 500 mg with instructions on how to take ie first week take one then up to fourth week taking 4 a day. I have to go back Tuesday and he wants to give me an injection into my leg of steroids so I dont have to take the pred then - any experience of this injection and new DMARD i am about to start on anyone please ???

I THOUGHT SO BUT JUST CHECKED OUT. THIS IS ANOTHER NAME FOR SULFASALAZINE. I'M TAKING 2000MG A DAY AS WELL AS MOBIC. THIS DMARD HAS BEEN OUT THERE FOR AWHILE. ONLY SIDE EFFECT I HAVE EXPERIENCE IS SOME SUN SENSITIVITY. HAS YOUR DR RECOMMENDED A NSAID AS WELL? GOOD LUCK TO YOU AND PM ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.I have had some joints injected with steroids. It always has helped me.

Thanks for all your replies - it does give me an idea about the side effects! I will start this on Tuesday at same time of injection - he has given me also Diclofenac NSAID which been on since the 15th August but it is making me feel sick all the time! Didn't know I could take an NSAID as well as a DMARD at the same time and the pred - just assumed only the DMARD and the injection as from Tuesday!
As you can tell - I do not receive info on the medication from DR or Rheumy at all - just get prescription !
