Question for PAer’s | Arthritis Information

My rheumy has suspected PA for a long time due to a strong family history of severe P and the disease progression but so far I have never had the P.

My question is how did your P start?  I have just recently noticed small tender bumps on both of my elbows.  At this time there are about 6 of these in a cluster on each elbow but I do take MTX and Enbrel so I would think that any P showing up would be very mild.  Itching was how I noticed them.

Thanks so much.

Bonny

I also have PA was diagnosed 3/2006 but I think I have had it for at least 5 years prior.  I only have P on my scalp and an occasional small spot elsewhere (very occasional) I have had the P on my scalp for about as long as I can remember I know I have had it since at least the age of 10 I am now 41.  Right around the time things got real bad for me a lot of pain in my hips and feet and difficulty walking my P was at its all time worst I would not dare wear black. I am now taking Remicade and MXT the P is just about gone I wish I could say the same about the PA.

Good luck

I first notice P on my scalp as an early teen and then it progressed to my elbows.  I did not realize that it was P on my scalp until I put the connection with my elbows.  Yes, it should be very light.  Hydrocortizone cream should help and there is a product called taclonex that I take when I have a flare.  It is steriod based and you use very little, but it clears fast and I don't try to dig at it.

Take care and let us know what happens.
