Ulcers in throat | Arthritis Information

Hey you guys, I am so glad that the site is back up. I have been getting ulcers in the back of my throat before I was diagnosed. I never knew it was ulcers until the Rheumy checked my throat and said it was caused by RA. I was just wondering if anyone else gets ulcers in there throat. I know people with Lupus do. Any help I can get would be grateful.

Thanks

I just found out I have to have an endoscopy for problems with my esophagus (sp).  Gastro doc says it's probably ulcers on my esophagus (but won't know for sure till he looks) and they could be caused by RA or from the RA meds causing tummy problems.  If it isn't one thing it's another.  I'll let you know what I find out and please let me know anything you find out. have they said anything about having acid reflux or GERD? THat will cause ulcers if not treated too.

I don't have stomach problems or acid reflux. They just come out sometimes, I can tell when they come out it feels like I am getting a bad cold or have strep throat. I run fever and have chills. She just told me it is caused by the autoimmune disease.

Hi - I just wanted to say that you are not the only one.  I have the exact same thing happen with the throat ulcers, and also get them at the back of my tongue.  Also sometimes on my lips.  With the fever and the chills thing.  They started several years before being diagnosed, and no one ever had an answer.  It's always nice to know you're not alone.
