Stop my enbrel? No!!!! | Arthritis Information

I have a bad day, well a bad week. Are you sure they don't want you off the Enbrel due to the skin cancer instead???

Good luck with all the rest.  I am scared to go to a podiatrist, I really don't want to know although my feet are excrutiatingly painful.

Hmmm, Matthew the receptionist said it was because of the site reaction.  I told my RD last week I was having the biopsy and if it was ok to be on the meds that I was on.  She said it was fine, just watch for problems healing.

Thanks Shelly!  I have been feeling SO much better on enbrel.  I am hoping to get the foot taken care of so I can be more active.  Now I am afraid I will go into a flare

Mary, I am so sorry! You are sure being hit from all sides aren't you? I really don't have any advice for you. I really wish that I had some words of wisdom, but I don't know anything about Enbrel or why they would stop it.

Just wanted to send you a great big hug

Please let me know about the biopsy and your foot. I hope the boot helps. When are you getting the biopsy results?

I had to quit MTX also, because of an awful cough, not being able to breathe just right. My RD said it was an allergy to MTX.

Much love, Nini

Aww Mary, that's just all NOT FAIR!!  Prayers and hugs for you.

Mary B,

When did your breathing problems start? I'm curious as when (long time ago) I took Enbrel and ended up in ER with breathing problems.  Since I liked the enbrel I tried spacing injections ( without Dr''s approval) to once a week versus twice a week and wheezing and asthma type symptoms went away.

It was a strange side effect.

Hope you solve you problem :)

Mary, I haven't had to go off Enbrel because of site reaction.  The first couple of months I always had them and my RD knew about it.  Does she want you to discontinue it entirely, or just till she's back in the US?  You've said many times how much a difference Enbrel's made for you regarding your RA.  Hope you'll be back on soon.

As far as the rest, I will be praying for you.  Glad you have the time off, that'll make a big difference.  Is the basil cell carcinoma the one they laser away, or will it take some bigger "guns"?  Please keep us posted on how this progresses.

Well, Mary, that is all just a bit much at once, sweetie. You hang in there. I hope it all sorts out quickly.

It does seem a bit extreme to pull you right off a medication that has severely helped you just because of a site reaction? I'd get a second opinion on that idea if you can.

You are in my thoughts and prayers, darl. Take some deep breathes and bite one piece of the drama off at a time.

I'll be thinking of you, sweetie.
Hi Mary, I use enbrel and I get a site reaction every time. At first it was really itchy , red and inflamed and would last until the next shot. But now it itches for about two days then goes away. The rheumy and the nurses say its very common and nothing to wobout. I can understand how you are feeling, i would hate to stop the enbrel. Its a miracle drug. Thanks all!  I am not sure what she really meant about the enbrel as I just listened to a voice mail from the receptionist.  I called my "mommy" and talked to her tonight.

I was really upset about the foot and ankle problem.  Every time I have a problem with a joint I start off with PT and then have to have surgery. I have had 5 surgeries already in the last 5 years!  I just don't want to end up with surgery again, beside the surgery never really corrects everything

Awww, Maryblooms I am so sorry to hear all you have going on.  My RD has not made me go off Enbrel for site reactions.  So I hope after your surgery you will be able to go back on.

I sure hope the surgery goes well and they get everything.  The foot problems you are having are very painful I have heard so I really hope this gets better soon.

Merry Christmas and I so hope you feel better soon.

hugs,

Crispy

Well, it's really a cast so I don't think anyone would expect you to wear a
dress shoe over it but maybe you have to buy two pairs of shoes? One sized
normal for your good foot, and the other sized giant for the cast foot. (Do
you normally wear orthopedic insoles? They can help with both those
problems).

MaryBlooms, I'm sorry to hear you are having a little difficulty with getting to
take enbrel---I know it makes a huge difference to you. I hope the
difficulties are resolved soon and that the carcenoma excising is quick and
effective. Hang in there.Hi Mary, yes my enbrel was stopped due to site reactions, but each time I had another shot, all the old sites would go red and swell and were very sore!!!!?????  I was also getting throat tightening and tongue tingling.

As for the boot, I bought a DONJOY Maxtrax airboot, it is very comfy and would be perfect for your problem, and you don't need a shoe with it, it comes on its own rocker and has black covering to fit in with what you wear.  Let me know if you need the web address, but if you look up donjoy, you should find it.  I hope they sort you out soon, it would be a real shame for you to have to stop the Enbrel when it is working.  Best of luck, from Janie.
Mary, I am so sorry to hear of all the health problems you are dealing with. I hope and pray you are feeling better soon. Love and hugs, JuliaSorry you're having such a rough time right now....sending good thoughts your way..feel better soon!

Mary, this is awful.  You're dealing with so much right now and I'm so sorry.  All I can offer is my hope for better days and a big hug.
