Well...I had a short lived reprieve. A few days ago I posted that I thought the increase of mtx may be helping because I had more energy. NOT SO MUCH! I am aching all over!!! The Plantar Fasciitis type thing going on in mostly my right foot, is rearing it's ugly head pretty strongly in my left as well. I am so dreading the morning.

Blessed,

Check to see if you can up the prednisone for a short time, you'll feel so much better. You know when prednisone was first introduced, i think in the late 40's early 50's it was called the get up and dance drug because people that were crippled were able to "git up and dance" at 110 mgs. It was soon called the "git up and dance to your grave" drug. Too many mgs for too long of times, know what i mean jelly bean, but a few extra mgs shouldn't bother you.

LEV

levlarry39428.8788541667Yes Lev...I just cut back to 5mg from 10mg last week. It just really stinks that I have to increase it again. Thanks for the advice.  This is why i have a cane and crutches love not for every day just the occassional days when my feet or knees won't let me get to the bathroom. Falling down is a waste of time you might hurt yourself. Are you taking any pred? I do feel for you sa much. My foot was doing that several months ago and the grandkids ran off playing with my cane while my son was at the store. They just like playing nanny mcphee but i needed it that day. I said hey bring back my cane you can play with it when i feel better. Hmmm. A strong pain pill and crutches maybe. Do you have a muscle relaxer i break down and take the flexeril if i can not walk it dose make me tired that is why i hate it. . It makes me so tired. Can anyone help with the little one? Call your doctor. Say i can not walk and i have a little one. I am usually lucky enough not to get it equally bad in both feet at the sametime. I can ususally put a bit of pressure on one foot at least.Lisa, 10mg down to 5mg is a HUGE decrease in a week!!  No wonder you're hurting - once you start going below 10 you must take it really slowly.    Have you got some 1 mg tabs of Pred??  I got down to 10 with not too many problems, but even that was slow -   But then to get below like 10 mgs one day, 9 the next, alternately for a fortnight, then 9 for another fortnight, then the same with the 9-8mg

I am sitting nicely on 8 mg currently, and Rh. wants to leave me there for another few months yet.  The lower the dosage, the slower the taper needs to be.   Please be careful not to go too quickly, Others have experienced this as well - it's just not worth it to try and go too quickly.

There's nothing more I can add except I hope you get over this latest hurdle quickly and feel better soon.  It must be so hard having to run around after a small child when you're feeling so badly.  Yea I agree, going from 10mg to 5mg in a week is a lot.  Usually RD's have you go down 2.5 mgs per week.  Did your RD have to go from 10mg to 5mg that quick?  Im sorry your not feeling well again.  Maybe an increase in the pred and mtx will do the trick and you can start decreasing the pred slowly. Nurse practitioner told me to increase pred to 10mg from 5mg, for 3 days to take the edge off my pain. I took the increase for about 5 days and then went back down to 5mg. You would think she would have told me to wing off in smaller amounts. I hope that helps.
