OT Waiting for the snow | Arthritis Information

Ok I always say this "I love snow for Christmas" but that was before RA! N0w the cold, ice, wind and humidity make my bones ache. I get a chill in my body that i can't shake. Today they are saying that starting around 10am it will snow until about 10pm, 6-8 inches at least. Of course I have appts and errands and getting the kids to and from school to worry about - I hate driving in snow and ice. Anyway, we get a one day reprieve tomorrow (thankfully as I have a massive hair dye appt!) and then we get socked with round two of what they're now calling a blizzard for Saturday night into Sunday. Lovely. Oh how I envy all you Southerners right now!I do too. It is so cold and my garage is absolutely full of recycle stuff and I'm
too cold to even go out and sort it out so I can get it out of there. I can
hardly fit my cars in right now but to go out, it makes my bones ache. My
husband cannot understand it and thinks that putting on 3 coats will help.
It does not help. It still hurts. I never used to be this way. I hate winter. I
do love a white christmas though.

LOL Link and everytime you say that I say I LOVE snow and want to see some really bad.Every time it snows here and I think FINALLY, it warms up and turns it all to ice and dead plants. At least I don't have to yell at DD to shovel off the deck. We had a couple inches the other day and it's already gone.Well, I just picked my kids up at noon - not waiting for the roads to get worse. I skidded out and almost hit someones picket fence. I just kept saying "Oh sh**" and then I stopped! Amazing how that little words helps sometimes! Anyway, car is in the garage all nice, kids are here too - if only I could get hubby home!

We are going to spend the day making German Stollen and Christmas cookies.

Right now snow would be a blessing after all the ice we have had the last 4 days, we lost our electricity on Monday morning, power was restored last night, it is really bad here in Oklahoma, there are a lot of people still without power.

Today I am very thankful, and looking forward to Christmas which we are going to host at my home with approximately 100 family members. Keep all the families that is going thru this disaster in your prayers.

MaeMae39429.4640046296
I'd take cold without snow over cold with snow.  But I'd take no cold and no snow first!!!  I HATE WINTER.  Yeah, how many times have I said that now?  Too many probably. But I'd be happy if I never saw another snowflake again in my life.
Ditto!!!!
I keep saying we all need to switch houses for a week or too.
I keep saying we all need to switch houses for a week or too.

Honestly, I don't think I could live in the cold weather, where it snows all winter. I did it for 4 years, about 35 years ago. I was young then, but I still hated to get out in it. I loved the snow, because I had never actually seen snow fall, til I moved to Connecticut. It was a beautiful place, but I'm was glad when we came home.

My prayers are with all of you who are going through these dangerous storms. Try to stay in and be safe! The idea of baking cookies, sounds like the perfect thing to do in the stormy weather.

Hugs to all, Nini

This is the one

I posted this on another thread somewhere, but it might be more appropriate here!!

OK!   Here's how is is!! Down under Santa gets a suntan!

There's no snow at Christmas
in the south pacific summer time,
The only white that's ever seen is cricket on the bowling green.

There's no snow at Christmas
in the south pacific summer time,
The days are warm
The nights are long
and barbecues a light.

Chorus:

'Cause down under Santa gets a suntan,
Rudolf puts zinc cream on his nose,
Down under santa gets a suntan,
It's off to the beach, throw off your clothes.

There's no snow at Christmas
in the south pacific summer time,
Friends come round, turn up the sound,
dancing through the night.

Chorus:

'Cause down under Santa gets a suntan,
Rudolf puts zinc cream on his nose,
Down under santa gets a suntan,
It's off to the beach, throw off your clothes

We don't mind tradition,
and now we've got our own,
You still see the Christmas tree
twinkling in our homes.

You'll hear Christmas songs about
sleigh rides in the snow,
but Christmas time down under
is different cause you know...

There's no snow at Christmas
in the south pacific summer time,
Christmas spirit in the sun
south pacific summertime.

Chorus:

'Cause down under Santa gets a suntan,
Rudolf puts zinc cream on his nose,
Down under santa gets a suntan,
It's off to the beach, throw off your clothes

Hi Honey!  I know what you're talking about.  I'm from PA and they were talking about snow.  I just adopted a new bird, Milo, the cockatoo.  I had to take Milo to the Vet for a checkup.  The roads were not plowed and I had to take it slow.  What normally takes 15 minutes took me almost 45.  We got there safe and sound.  My joints hurt as well as the muscles.  I also have Fibromyalgia.  Yes it would be nice to have a white Christmas, but it's a pain to drive in it.  Well, I hope you feel better.
