Oh gosh, I've been on Lyrica for about 2 weeks now and at first I felt great but this past Wednesday I was in so much pain I thought i was going to croak!!! Today my hands are swollen and my knees ache and I have a terrible headache. Could this be side effects from the Lyrica???? I did read that it could cause dizziness but that's the only major side effect I know of.

momofthree39431.75375Weekends are a bad time to have this sort of problem. Gee whiz! They would have you cut down a little at a time but i have no idea how much. You could try the pharmacy? I believe this would fall under needing doctor advise. Thanks I will call the pharmacy or my dr tomorrowI could see the headache being from Lyrica, but the swollen hand and aching knee sound more like an RA flare.  Even if you get an answer on the taper from the pharmacy, I would call the dr on Monday to see if they think it is even related. My experience with Lyrica has been, for the most part, positive: the neuropathy is quiescent and as a side benefit my overall pain level has significantly decreased.

I have not noticed any edema, in fact looking at my fingers and wrists there is a significant reduction of swelling. However, that could be more a result of the enforced activity I have been on for the past weeks that Lyrica.

My obstacle with the drug is how I am going to continue to afford it after this initial 90-day 'script runs its course. However, perhaps by then I will no longer be _in need_ of it.

Cheers. Happ
