I've been sitting here thinking of a few things and would like to collect some opinions on some things.

I'm  a bit of a naturalist although I realize modern meds really help with RA, I use MTX myself but before I went to my Rhuematologist appt.  I was using glucosamine along with Ibuprofen and this (after approx 8weeks) was starting to work for me.  I know that dr's say that glucosamine is not effective with RA as it is with osteo-arthritis but I noticed significant changes which make me think differently.  I had swelling and pain so bad in my thumb where it was so stiff that I could never bend it.  1 month after taking glucosamine, I was able to not only bend my thumb but I could do range of motion exercises with it, it was unbelievable.  I know if I ever get better enough and maybe this is wishful thinking, but If the meds put me into remission I will be taking glucosamine instantly and always, I think it was working for me.  It also got me walking again without too much discomfort.  aaaak... I could have just been coping better, who knows, but what a coincidence.  Also.....

after watching shows like Montell and such, they say that marijuiana is used for people with chronic pain and cancer... etc. I'm just curious.  Of course we all know people who "smoke it" but it is legalized in Canada and prescribed by doctors for people with chronic pain.  I don't myself (cause I'm a chicken) but I thought I would like to collect some views on it from you guys here.

Gosh I think of strange things early in the morning...LOL..

Hope everyone is feeling "just great" today.

Not a strange topic at all.

I use to smoke alot of pot back when I was in high school.made me feel pretty good and very hungry.

I can imagine it helping people with pain.I have also read that some dr.'s are giving exstacy to cancer patients that are close to passing away to ease their anxiety.

I would never smoke it again due to the fact I have bipolar, don't need anything messing with this brain. But I can see your interest. It is natural.Would you have to get that from a pain specialist or your dr.?

Let us know if you give it a try.I am interested in how it helps with pain.

I'm not sure where I would get that prescription from..LOL, probably if I was going to I would talk to my GP. I feel really comfortable with her and she used to be a pharmacist.  She's pretty up on things, prescribled and natural.  I'm really just curious on how it would interact with certain medications that we take or may have to take.
