my joints have been hurting a lot worse today/yesterday i realized i forgot to take my enbrel! could tat be why?

also can lyrica cause hair loss, mine has been falling out like CRAZY! handfulls this morning and i have thin hair to begin with......

only one more exam to go-although im not sure that this one went well, ill be done in just a few days though!

Hi Mermaid,

I take Lyrica and nothing in med info sheet shows hair loss as a side effect.

Do you take MTX, my hair is coming out also and it seems to be directly related to the mtx and increase in dosage.

Also, isn't that a side effect of Enbrel.

One more thing stress could also cause the hair loss and with the load you are under right now it could beaffecting it.

I take folic acid and just started on biotin to counteract the hair loss.

Good luck

Karen

Mermaid, I am on enbrel and sometimes if I forget a dose I hurt. It really has to be a combination of other factors too though: weather change, activity level, stress etc. Sort of my body's way of saying "HEY, wake up! Give me my ENbrel!". I hope you feel better soon.LM, the hair loss is your MTX. What dosage are you taking? I was taking 20mg and losing a lot so my RD cut me back to 10mg and now the hair loss is virtually nothing. See if they can cut you back a bit and it should stop. I am really lucky in that my hair is naturally thick and I have a lot of it but if you have thinner hair, I always think it could be a real problem.

Hang in there, kiddo. Exams nearly done. Good for you.
i am on mtx 25mg, buthave been for almost a year, would it just be causing me problems now?

ahhhhh i dont want to wake up today but i need to go to the library.........

my hands are swollen this morning, all i did was plop from computer to desk ankles kill to put weighton them Yep, the MTX could just be starting to cause you problems with your hair now. I think it is because it builds up in your system. I didn't start having hair problems until probably about nine months into the MTX. Talk to your rheumy about it at your next visit.

Sorry that you're sore, honey and have to keep on your feet and going. Just think, "I'm nearly there." Keep going, girlfriend. It will be over soon and you shall get a break. hmm thanks. I have thin hair to begin with so im not so pleased with this....guess ill tell my rheumy.

bah back to learning about the extraceullar matrix and cell junctions cant wait till cell bio is over and i do genetics!!!How are you feeling today?  Did you take your Enbrel?Take a lot of folic acid. It will help slow down or stop the hair loss. At least 1200 mcg per day. You can buy tablets at the drug store in 400 mcg amounts, so take three of those.
