Can you have TOO MUCH Vitamin C?

http://www.hmc.psu.edu/childrens/healthinfo/articles/vitamin c.pdf

Katie I found this a little while ago when i was looking up VIT. C Levels Hope it helps

It's become an interest to me, as I see more and more things with "All the Vitamin C you need in a day!" on them. For example, I'm sitting here drinking Snapple Water, and it says in one serving there's 100% DV. But a bottle is MORE than one serving. So if I drink this whole thing, I'll have 250% DV. It just seems excessive. Am I nuts?

Yes all of the newer drinks are trying to compete with orange juice. So you need to decide how much v-c you want in a day. You probably do not want to drink 10 of them.

I was told that vitamin c never stays long in your system. that as soon as you pee you lose the vitamin c. so the normal v c tablets are pretty useless. unless you take 1 every hour or so. I was told by my nutritionist to take a slow release vitamin c that releases a certain amount throughout the day. Your body does not store vitamin C, so there's no risk of overdose.

Many people believe that megadoses of vitamin C can support excellent health -- thousands of times over the recommended daily allowance. So it's nothing to worry about.

I wondered about this myself, Katie. Thanks for asking! Ooh, and get this.... I've been eating a couple of oranges a day and I managed to miss the bug that Baby Boy had this week. My hubby wasn't too lucky though; he called from work earlier and said he felt like crap. Usually he's the one that's immune to everything. Hopefully he will get to feeling better soon. I hate to see him sick.

Hope you all have a superfantastic and extra comfortable day!
