We think god is testing me, not quite sure.
I have BV (bacterial vaginosis) that won't go away. I finally got accepted for Hemira assistance and was talking with the Hemira company about my BV.
They told me I "cannot" take any biologic when i have chronic reoccuring BV and to try other drugs.
Besides trying arava, i have nothing else that my body doesn't reject besides prednisone.
When it rains, it poors.
I have to call my rhummy who gave me a nasty call monday asking why i didn't start it yet (she just signed the papers, i hadn't got it yet). Now i have to talk to her rude assistant Connie (nurse) and tell her Hemira said no to using it.
They get more and more rude when drugs don't work on me even though it's not my fault. I hate calling them but can't drive 3hrs to the next rhummy.
Wow. Just what you need. RA and nasty health care "professionals".
I don't know anything about BV, but I hope you can get it cleared up fast so you can start the humira.
I'm sorry you're being treated so shabbily---it's totally inappropriate.1st Obstetric and Gynecologic Clinic, Department of Gynecology, Obstetrics and Neonatology, Second University of Naples, Naples, Italy.
AIM: The authors have evaluated the real efficacy of using hydrogen peroxide for previously treated recurrent bacterial vaginosis that is resistant to other forms of treatment. METHODS: The study included 58 women aged between 18 and 42 years old. Vaginal irrigations with 30 ml of hydrogen peroxide (3%) were prescribed in the evening for a week. The follow-up was carried out 3 months after the end of treatment. RESULTS: The results clearly show that the use of hydrogen peroxide in vagina can eliminate the main symptoms of bacterial vaginosis, and in particular the malodorous leucoxanthorrhea in 89% of cases at 3 months after the end of treatment, a result that is comparable to that obtained using metronidazole or clindamycin as a vaginal cream. Moreover, hydrogen peroxide facilitates the restoration of normal vaginal bacterial flora (represented by H202-producing lactobacillus) in 100% of cases and normal acid pH (pH<4.5) in 98% of cases; it also fosters the disappearance of clue cells from vaginal smears and anaerobic pathogenic flora from vaginal secretions in 100% of cases. The amine test became negative in 97.8% of cases. All results underwent statistical analysis and were found to be statistically significant. CONCLUSION: Hydrogen peroxide represents a valid alternative to conventional treatments for recurrent bacterial vaginosis, and associates the absence of collateral effects with low costs, excellent tolerability and real therapeutic efficacy.

I take one by nature's way called (probiotic) primadophilus optima and i am now trying to take it twice a day. It helps with my stomach and bowels swelling, but so far isnt' working very well on my BV.
It does work ok when i use it inserted into the cervix. I guess the direct contact makes it work better. But if i stop doing it that way, the BV comes back.
I have to call the rhummy tomorrow, my husband said if the nurse gets rude again, he will start doing the phone calls for me.
Bubba -
Try to work up to a lot of probiotics. Maybe mix and match. It really will help long term. My mom is on 3 caps a day and finally has some control of her IBS.
Since they keep putting you on antibiotics - have you thought about AP?
Pip
my doctor doesn't believe in AP and i can't find anyone close in Louisiana that does. I tried looking about a year ago.
