For those of you who take prescription anti-inflammatories,  I wonder if you could tell me which one you think is the most effective.

I've taken mobic and I know my rheumy prescribes relafen.

Thanks!

I think the one that works best, is the one that works best for you!  People have such varying responses to NSAIDs.  My mom finds Celebrex works best for her, but it did nothing for me.  Personally, I prefer Relafen.I take Celebrex.  Seems to work ok for me.I've tried quite a few of the Rx ones, but Relafen worked best for me.

I have been on ibuprofen, naproxen, celebrex and mobic.

Due to digesting pills, i had reactions to all but mobic.  I have been using mobic for about 6 months and if i miss a pill, my body hates me.  It has done the best for me so far.

I've taken quite a few and the only one that works for me is Celebrex.

too many meds work differently for different people.  for every 1 who says med A is the best you will get someone who says it never worked for them.

It may take a couple of different meds but you just have to try them out yourself..

For me the most effective for my joints have been good old fashioned asprin followed by the old stand by ibuprofen.  My stomach however prefers celebrex

Becky has been on Voltarol, Feldene, Piroxicam and now Naproxen. She has never had urine or blood tests in the 7 years since she has been taking NSAIDs and last Monday had huge amounts of blood in her urine, when tested by a dietician.

We are waiting for the results of the tests and will then make a final decision as to whether to go ahead with the joint injections and MTX in January or whether to continue with the drastically changed diet alone for a few months.

Does anyone know if she can have MTX if her kidney/liver shows signs of damage?

Dee and Becky

Hi Dee,

I'm amazed her GP didn't test your daughters blood, if she has MTX she should have blood tests every month, I had them and when my liver functions rose was told immediately to stop MTX, not too sure about kidney problems though I would ask the consultant.

For NSAIDS I take voltarol which works well for me, I do have to take a stomach protector as well as they have made my stomach bleed in the past.

Thanks so much for your replies.  I did call he doctor's office.  She's on vacation.

I have mobic from my former rd, so i was okayed to take 15 milligrams of that.

I have a small amount of swelling and I hope it will help with that.

Thanks again.
