Goodmorning everyone!!! Its soposed to be a quiet day here in my little part of the world.  Hopefully it will stay that way.  Kelsay decided while I was sleeping this morning to not wake me up and to wrap the Christmas presents that she bought at school the other day...so now I have no tape

Hope everyone has a great, pain-free day!

Snowowl~ Glad to see you in chat.  My old cat never played w/ the tape but would drink the water out of the tree stand...YUCK

Good Morning

I'm not even finished shopping and baking...hubby will have to do it this weekend...oh brother!

I'm sure ya'll are busy busy busy so Merry Christmas to everyone, hope you have a joyous, pain free holiday!

I have finished my Christmas Shopping!!!!

I have barely started my Christmas baking and I have a Christmas party Saturday night.  Tomorrow is shopping and baking day.

I had my follow-up with the neurosurgeon this morning and he says I need to have an Anterior Discectomy and an artificial disc put in at C-4/5.  It involves going in through the front of the neck to the spine and pulling out the disc and putting in a fake one

Hopefully the techs will get back on track soon, they went out on strike Monday when I was supposed to have my hip MRI. and they went out again today.  So now things will be backed up again.  I see my Rheumy the first of Feb so hopefully I will have had the MRI by then and she can refer me to a surgeon for the hip.  If the appt is too far away I might get the neck done anyway cause it is really driving me nuts.

We had soooo much rain today.  Floods all over the city. Big, bad thunder storms.  Here's hoping that the drought might be coming to and end

In the morning I'm going with Merryn to the Dr to check out her gallstones.  Then I'll go shopping for all the stuff I need for Christmas as far as food goes.  Another busy day down under....

Morning! Geesh, I still have about 3 projects  ( CHristmas presents to make), the basement to finish up going through boxes and, organizing, and , and!

Hope everyone is having a good bone day. I am just trying to keep up with everything so I can finally take a big sigh of relief.

DAughter should be back home next week..oh yay! No more midnight runs to her apartment cause she is sick!!!!!!!!!! YAYAYAYAYAY!

Good morning to all.

Shannon- if you give Kelsay the beads maybe she could sort them out for you

Moana- sorry to hear you havent been feeling so good. What kind of leg pain are you having?

Pam- You sound busy busy busy!!!! Your op sounds scary but its a good way to have it done. At least its all done together and a month off work will be good for you. I hope the weather does improve.

Its not been much above freezing here but still no snow and the temps are set to rise next week into double figures so we could have a mild christmas.

Hubby is out doing his christmas shopping at the moment. I was going to go but my knees are swollen like melons and my hands are starting seize up.

Pam, Sorry to hear that you have to have spinal surgery.  But hopefully it will solve the problem that you are having.  Have fun baking tomorrow and have fun w/ your Christmas party.  Just dont over-do yourself!!!  Let me know when you get your package from me.  I wanna see how long it takes to get there.

I do like my baking and grocery shopping (OK I'm officially weird

I'll let you know as soon as it arrives Shannon.  The Christmas mail can be slow but we should get an extra delivery on Saturday because we always get one the Sat before Christmas.  Makes it more fun that way.

I know how you feel about listening to the complaints.  Sometimes it's just easier to do it yourself, just the thought of the moaning and groaning is enough to give you the incentive to do it

I better head to bed so that I can function in the morning.

talk to y'all later

PAD runs in my family, clogged arteries, that's why the vascular surgeon appt...they'll do a doppler test to check blood flow.Moana, I know it sounds simplistic, but try some calcium/magnesium
supplements for that leg pain.

Oh I so miss all the preparations and Christmas baking. I just, well life at times  is so difficult without a spouse so I just do not do that anymore. It just isn't the same doing it for cranky mom who appreciates nothing that I do.

SO glad you are all enjoying this time. My time will come someday.

Gimpy~ I'm all for simplistic....where do I get these supplements and what are they called? How much do I take? Thanks!

P.S. Kellie Rippa on Regis and Kellie was talking yesterday morning about taking Epsom Salt and Peroxide baths...said she swears by them for her and the kids when they have congestion. I thought of you...Moana, they're called calcium/magneseum and you can get them at any drugstore (there's a ton of brands but they're all cheap). If you can take antacids, I suggest you first purchase a roll of Tums with Calcium and Magneseum and take 2 a day until the roll is gone. If your leg pain goes away, you know the problem and should then purchase the supplements and take them daily.

Pre RA I had mystery leg pain for months which my doctor couldn't figure out (even though she did check my cal/mag levels). Then my chiropractor suggested the Tums test and that fixed me right up!
Yea that's easy I have a whole box of Tums EX. I'll start that today...boy how great that would be if it helps! Thanks!Moana, make sure it is the kind that has calcium/magneseum! Not all antacids have it. Well shoot Gimpy...just checked and mine are plain. I will go out and get more.

My family are all coming up to be this year (a 300 mile journey) for them to get here. I'm lucky my MiL lives down the road and has 2 spare bedrooms.

Everything is ready for their arrival on the 24th, there will be 11 of us around the table. I'm not flaring at the moment (maybe I shouldnt type that, its tempting fate), and am hoping that it stays that way until they all leave on the 27th, whereupon I intend to do absolutely bugger all but chill out until my father (my parents are divorced), arrives for the New Year.

We normally go out for Xmas lunch and have a party for New Year, this year being newly diagnosed and feeling more tired, we've decided to have family for lunch and friends over for supper for the new year instead. Its my last day at work today and am really looking forward to a lie in. I've got a few bits of last minute shopping to do tomorrow with MiL and that will be that.

Wishing you all a fabulous festive period and a very Happy, Healthy (as possible) New Year.
