Cookies are a Hit | Arthritis Information

First I made Mona's Peanut Butter Balls. I always put the cookies out on the deck to cool them off, if they need that. So after I had dipped the balls in the chocolate and set them on a bench outside to harden, I noticed the dog next door was spending alot of time out there in the general area of the balls, LICKING ALL THE CHOCOLATE OFF THEM!

Chased her off, locked the gate to the deck and the next day made DD's favorite New York Cookies, that have a layer of bittersweet chocolate as the top. The gate was locked, so I thought they were safe. I cool them on the deck as I add the 3 layers, but when I brought them back in to take them out of the pan to cut, there were chunks of chocolate gone? THERE WERE SQUIRREL TOOTH MARKS ALL OVER THE TOP! It had worked and worked until it got an edge and could pop off a chunk.

All the cookies are safely in tins and sitting on the deck to stay fresh in the cold and today I see a squirrel running back and forth from the general direction of the tins. He has popped the top off the Potatoe Chip Cookies and is running back and forth, hiding one, coming back, hiding one, coming back. I knew the lid to that tin was a little loose, but how smart is a squirrel?

Third time's a charm, I hope I have learned my lesson.

Heheheheheee!!

My son would have said the big mouse ate the cookies... that is what he calls a squirrel.

Yep... sure does sound like they are a hit with the neighborhood animals! Maybe you should start a doggie and squirrel treat shop up.
